I Had to unbox my old N95 8Gb this week, my N97 has developed a problem - yeah whats new! The N95 8Gb gets signals where my N97 would fail to get a signal, my n95 8 Gb also gets ............wait for it a 3G signal while my N97 hardly ever gets a 3 G signal.
I use my N95 anywhere in my house while my N97 i have to be upstairs while standing next to my bedroom window if not i cant get any signal, i also get a 3g signal in my house with my N95 8 Gb while no 3G signal with my N97

My N95 8 Gb also rings louder plays back music and sound recordings louder. My N87 you could hardly hear it ring or hear music on it.
In fact when i get my N97 back it will stay in its box..stuff it i really forgot how terrible that phone was. This is another reason why the N8 will fail, a lot of EX Nokia users will remember how Nokia shafted us and gave us the wrong end of the pineapple with their "FLAG SHIP" N97.
A lot of EX nokia people have and will vote with their feet and boycott Nokia this time round and maybe a lot longer to come.
The N95 8GB works simple as that.
(plus symbian been dated too)
Im due for an upgrade as well but im trying to hold out till December.
But I just want to sing the praise of the N95 8GB over the N97.

keep my old N95 as a backup phone,

that said its not seen much use since i went iphone :)

when i had a C905 i used it more than the 905 due to repair time

I compltely agree. I had an N95 8GB from the day they came out - and it was the only phone I've kept not only past the end of my contract but months past the end of my contract. It was brilliant.

I replaced it with the N97 when that came out and like everyone else found it to be compeltely dire. Nokia were useless about it, doing nothing more than just admitting its crap whilst screwing over all the loyal Nokia fanboys, of which I was one. I eventually managed to get my network operator to release me from my contract after 5 months of useless phone with dire signal holding ability, sold it on Ebay for 200 quid and bought an Android device.

I dont care if the next Nokia makes tea for me and costs £10. I don't want it.

And to add insult to injury I sent my N95 8Gb to be 'recycled' at Royalmail SimplyDrop and it was stolen by a member of postal staff :(

N95 8Gb was probably the best phone I ever had, I love my N82 though (as a backup). I dont really get Android though, I find it a really boring OS.

Loved mine & I've still got it. I simply refuse to recycle it because its an awesome backup phone.

The camera is also still fantastic even by today's standards.

So? doesnt mean you have to say the memory size everytime you mention it does it?

How else are they supposed to differentiate between the two devices? There were more differences between the two as well as memory, for example the screen was bigger and so was the battery I believe.

I had an N98, apart from the camera, I don't think it was all that. Symbian just didn't do the device justice and made the experience of the phone rather mediocre.

Ok but if your talking about an N95 in general like here, theres no need to keep mentioning the memory size everytime you say N95

You having me on? Did you not read the excellent link that explained the difference?
N95 is NOT the same phone as an N95 8GB. Is the HTC desire the same as the new HTC Desire HD?.....i mean they are btoh Desires right?

There is. They are not the same. It'd be like saying if we're talking about iPhone, there's no point in saying 2G or 3GS. It's still the iPhone.
