6000 series confirmed for next week

I don't think they " will sell just as well " the 5*** were the first DX11 cards to market and there was no other options available back then, it's a different story now.

Not really, it's only the 460 that is currently seeing reasonable good sales volumes.
Also supply should be much more plentiful, so prices will be lower thus sales will be higher...

On a slight tangent, are we going to see overclocked variants with non-stock cooling at launch or will they follow later?

I wanted to know this, because its a potential longer wait and i'm getting pretty tired of waiting for the 69's now

I got the impression it was October, now its November, then there will be supply and demand issues and also the standard releases before any factory clocked with better cooler solutions, sigh :o

the way i see it, the 6870 and 6850 are jus cost cutting versions of the 5850 and 5870, and will slowly replace them fully. No reason why they wont sell well, if it costs less and performs around the same and (i bet) draws less power. Again, I suspect the 6970 will just be similar in performance to 5970 but cost less too. if we're looking for a gpu much better than nvidia 4xx and ati 58xx then it'll be the next batch in 2011.

Gibbo,
when are we likely to see Ocuk having stock of 6970's ? and are they likely to be in good supply ?

Right so tomorrow the "new" versions of the 5850 and 57xx are being released right?

I never did get if they are using the newer naming convention
