Picked this up the other day:
'05 VW Jetta GLI 1.8T (180bhp) Not sure if this model is available in the UK? Same as the 20th Anniversary Golf IV.
Runs fantastic and is in mint condition :) Got a few little bits I want to change/address but nothing major.

Seriously, you live in the USA and the best you could come up with was a 4 cylinder Volkswagen Bora? Really?

Hang you head in shame. We do get this car over here, albeit in non-anniversary 150bhp form.

How much drugs are you going to sell from that then?

Also, is that massive metal thing below the steering wheel just a foot rest or an actual pedal?

I've always liked these, especially with the BBS RC*
I'd rather have a Golf or Bora 180 over a Leon.
Shame about the 'box and lack of CC though :(

It's a footrest. Most LHD cars have a lot more space for your left leg than RHD cars.

Fox - the only Yank cars I like are the new Camaro & Mustang, but were quite a bit more expensive.
Besides when you're away from home, you surround things that remind you of that place (shame I couldn't get a diesel really :D)
Most cars are 'auto' over here, has tiptronic on it so a small bonus.
No drug dealing going on here, that would be the Escalade with 24" wheels I should imagine :D Gets very hot here in the summer, so window tints are a good thing.
The foot rest is like that on all VW GTi/R-line models.

Very much like that actually, has a sportier look than the UK model - the bumper seems longer on yours? Nice ;)

Having got back from a trip to the US the other day I wrote:

I have just been driving around California and Arizona for just over a week. My female business partner arrived the day before me and hired the car. Did she pick a Mustang? an F150? no.......... a 2.5 litre VW Jetta!

To be honest it wasn't bad, although it was laggy when you put your foot down (guess that it is a bit of a naff auto box). Given that the cost was to be picked up by our client I would have applied a bit more imagination.

It wasn't a bad car though and would I'm sure will be of much better quality than the usual american tat. Hope you like it
