Brilliant vid.

I love how you can see the density changing over a period of time and as night falls (you can see the shadow) and as dawn starts. Rather interesting.

Did anybody else see some very fast moving planes around the north pole?

Also, the vid is very interesting, strange that the air plane safety statistics are still good!

FWIW, this can't have been "taken" by a satellite, since it would have to be surrounding the planet to be able to see everything.

I would imagine that's due to the map projection (Mercator by the looks of it).
 
I'm really surprised how much the traffic drops off over night. I'd always thought of the major population centres as constantly busy. Guess people do sleep.
