Hello.
Was seeing some benchs today at some threads and decided to "flex my muscles" by showing mine since my windows startup is quite impressive.
Started AS SSD Bench only to discover read/write speeds of average 4-10mb and access times of 9-10ms.
Horified, I upgraded to the latest firmware.
Bench again and started 150MB/s and then slowly dropped to 6 and cba to let the bench end as it would take too long.
Everest Disk benchmarking I have speeds up untill 264MB/s on benchs like AS and Atto it begins well and then drops to speeds of 5MB and even less.
I'm running my drive in ACHI mode.
Before with the latest firmware my disk's health was 98% now its on 79%.

What is going on? :(

Ok this is the AS SSD Bench, which could not let it complete since it's taking too long. You can see the speed.... yesterday it would do this in the first two as well.. This was happening with the Atto bench as well.

This is HD TUNE Bench

This is Everest HDD Bench Crucial M225 VS WD BC 750GB

kinda low numbers in AS, and comparing the two drivers the difference percentage isnt much. :(

writing in HD Tune was disabled something about removing partitions, everest writing tests remove all data.

I would try formatting the drive and then reinstall windows 7 and benchmark the drive.

reinstalling is not possible as I got this copy through MSDN alliance and have to download it again to write on a CD and my university has bandwidth limits and I dont have enough to download it this month.
The install is exactly 1 year old but I've been awayfor like 6 months. No virus/spyware etc I do maintaince every month.

The only way you can get the drive back to it's factory qouted speed performance is to secure erase the drive and re-install windows in AHCI mode.

How do I secure erase? Can I do a backup of the drive instead and load it afterwards or does it need to be a fresh install? Cause I'd hate to have to reinstall everything :s

ok i;ve used sanity erase, and reinstall windows 7 fresh while on achi mode. first thing i did was use AS SSD.

Results:

173.05MB/s 98.16MB/s
20.02MB/s 6.86MB/s
50.28MB/s 9.11MB/s
0.147ms 0.706ms

Score : 88 26
163

So, nothing changed :s what could be the problem? :( my WD Black has better write values and similar read except the first which is 173...
Can;'t post shots atm as my pc is being validated to enter the internet.

Ok managed to set it up and here are some screens:

Crystalmark seems more... optimistic.
