A hatchback is supposed to be practical.

A French hatchback with plastic windows, scaffolding, no radio, no A/C is about as worthwhile as a handbrake on a canoe.

If it's something to be used on track, get something thats a million times better than a FWD hatch.

You drive a Honda Integra, surely of all people somebody has an Integra should most appreciate the R26.R?

I don't, im 14 and at school, Will said iam.

No doubting the R26R's talents, but all that impracticality is a bit silly in a hatcback IMO. Id rather have a Mugen Fn2 anyways, far better engine.:D

in what respect is the fn2 engine far better?

At the 2008 'Ten of the Best' event which has some of the countries top 4WD, FWD and RWD cars a crappy Nova on a very technical handling circuit posted a faster lap time than 13 RWD cars including

standard nova 1.1 was it?

They might get faster lap times, i go on track to enjoy myself, and have fun, and a RWD car such a westfield or caterham would be far more enjoyable that a peice of a **** nova.

It's not the car it's what you do with the car, even Integra's shells came in 1.6 shopping trolly form.

Just like Honda did turning the Integra shells into one of the best FWD drives ever, there is nothing stopping anyone doing something equally brilliant in any other car, including Nova's.

You are spot on....

.... as long as like honda, when you took that 1.6 integra and turned it into a 1.8 Type R you have at your disposal:

- A Multi million pound workshop
- Decades of automotive experience
- More knowledge than your average 'how to make it quicker, innit' internet guide
- A set of kenwood 6x9's

Of course that's why picking up good used Integras for around the £5k mark makes financially more sense then creating your own similar performance fast road / track car. However with time / money / knowledge anything is possible.

they havent added an engine comparison screen on gran turismo

but at least the red line is screaming, surely that benefit is obvious enough?

But it's just a better engine.

i know that it is a technically very advanced engine.

but that doesnt mean that it is the best engine for the job, especially compared to a turbo 2.0 that comes with 225/230 stock and can easily be tuned to...250? 270? with more to come - with the simple mods that Mugen have put onto their engine....

to get more from the mugen you'd have to turbo or supercharge it, which will be very costly...with the megane that part is already done, you just have to do a few bolt ons in terms of the intake/exhaust and chip and you're away...

edit, and i know about high revving engines, my daily drive has what, 108bhp /litre from an NA power plant @ 8200 rpm/

the whole HP/litre thing is incredible snobbery

You see it on the US forums all the time. Import V muscle, and you can guarantee the first insult the "import" guys will bring out is how low the US cars are for HP/litre (generally)

So what if it delivers 414bhp from a 6.2 litre, when it goes and sounds as good as the LS3 C6 corvette does.

yea peak output is nice, and makes u feel like the big man. and bhp a litre is good...

especially when thats what you can afford, or enjoy...personally i drive a low cc high output cos it was the best i could afford as a package ... but my next car will be turbo im hoping
