£200-£250pm on petrol + wear and tear... 60miles a day takes 60 to 90min depending on the traffic

it takes longer and costs nearly twice as much if i take the train though, damn London

The 1 hour journey in to work always sees me seated, and I listen to music whilst reading the Metro. 1.5 journey home (longer as my route ensures I get a seat), lets me get through 2 / 4 episodes of a 40min / 20min show, which is especially handy if I have shows I want to watch that my gf doesn't. This leaves me more time to game once I get home.

you have a point, I used to commute and it was time to myself. Now i walk down from my office and have babies wanting attention, dogs wanting walking and a wife wanting very little at all!

£160 - £200pm. Depending on how I drive and if I'm late or not.

36 miles each way, around 2 hrs travel time in total.

Currently £240 a month travelling 64 miles a day in a 50MPG capable car, and the weekend jollies.

New job will be 5 miles away, hence commuting to work = 200 miles a month = 1/3 of a tank... (£60 a tank)

I was just wondering how much you lot spend on getting to work? I used to spend £100pm going to London everyday and now have to spend £160/200 to drive to work and i personally think that's quite a lot but then again it might not.

So fellow OcUKers - what's your average monthly spend on petrol/bus/train etc..

£125pm, I used to spend £80pm.

5 minute bike ride every day each way. Total cost probably works out about £15/month when you factor in repairs every couple of months.

One year placement so can't really complain, but oh how much I want a new car right now.

When I was on placement I was at different factories:
One is 6 miles from home - Around 260 miles a month so £30
One is 13 miles from home - Around 560 miles a month £65

£150pm for me 48 miles per day 5 days a week! i have no option but to drive, as the train does not get in until 09.15!!! Stupid!
