I raced a BMW M6 and my EVO kept up!

When I do it, I shall be using TRL.

What I will go for is a Stage 1.5 which consist of new turbo elbow (spools turbo 500rpm earlier, thats peak torque at 3000rpm :D), downpipe, full exhaust system and new fuel pump. Then a remap. The results vary from car to car, one can expect to hit around 405-415BHP with circa 420-440lb/ft of torque. So its a good 40-50BHP more with upto 80lb/ft more and results in circa 2MPG fuel economy too. :)

Just gotta get it done, its if I want to lay down £2500 or not and or whether I want to consider getting the conrods done and maybe aiming for 450-500 horses from it. :D

Good plan, however before you do it give MG Autos a call, i've seen a couple of evo's they have tuned and its always been an excellent job. They provide a very reliable remapping service

Whatever they do, a common thing that is advised to people looking to up the power is to fit stronger bottom end bolts. Don't have those fitted. I also doubt changing the conrods on a X being needed either. I've rebuilt a few impreza and evo engines and they are stronger than you think. The problem is they are turbo'd and rely on an accurate fuel map to prevent pinking. A few years ago I built an impreza engine only fitting stronger pistons and the rest was fresh sti spec internals. It produced on its last dyno run 576bhp and is still going strong 3 years later.

i once won a traffic light GP in my mondeo, granted, there was only me at the lights but i still won.
