Scariest movie you've seen?

Yup, loved the original as well (probably my favourite old classic zombie film), but prefer the new one :D
Ooh! How about the Land of the Dead remake?

It is not as good as dawn, but I quite like it (unlike part 2... contagium I think it is called)

I have another recommendation! The Crazies. The original was made by Romero but there is a remake that is even better. Perhaps it is not quite a zombie film, but close enough.

Mind you, it does help that I speak Spanish fluently and to be honest the subtitles dont always reflect everything thats actually being said on film ;)
Cheat!
First one had audio in English - it was very good actually apart from one character lol

The Grudge/Ju On (Japanese).

I have a colleague who's never been scared by a film in his life. I'm lending him this tomorrow hoping to change that! One of the most disturbing things I've ever seen and really quite a good horror as they go.

I just thought,, what is scary :p

If you jump does that mean it's scary..., or where you can't sleep or focus after make it scary

Not scary per se, but really freaked me out for some unexplicable reason.

The 4th kind. I really didn't feel safe under my bed covers for a while after that and I have no idea why.

I remember a Clive Barker film from a while ago that creeped me out. It had all sorts of weird creatures in it. The name passes me by.

edit// Nightbreed

Whats the film with a little girl who meets a guy off the internet, meets him in a cafe and goes to his after it?

Not want to tell to much info as will give away the plot.

I watched this, not knowing much about it. It isn't a horror, and not really scarey as such. But by christ did it give me the shivvers.

Its the one with Ellen Page. Hard Candy. Great film.

I can't watch scary films :( I'm too much of a wuss and have nightmares for days.

Yup, seen it as well, although it was pretty poor IMO, but still rather enjoyable to watch :p, didn't like the zombies at all really, in the way that they where learning and becoming smart etc. thought that was pretty stupid TBH :p.

I just love the good fast running, mindless zombies with nothing but rage, disfigured faces and everything :D :p

Yup, also seen that as well :D, really liked it (haven't seen the old one, only the remake). Yeah wouldn't quite say it was a zombie film either, but it was still a pretty freaky film to watch.

I love a good horror film, but the one that genuinely scared me was, as has been mentioned numerous times, the grudge (the remake). Terrifying!

DO NOT WANT

Ju-On didn't do anything for me, but then I watched the American one, and even though I knew the story, it still messed me up

Lights were on for the next few nights I can tell you :(

That is very true. It only gets more stupid in Land of the Dead when the boss zombie starts using a machine gun.

To be honest, there are not many other good zombie films that I can think of. There was Zombi 2, but the damn drum beat in the background that continues through the entire film drives me crazy. Not to keen on comedies either.

Many people seem to be finding the grudge scary (original/remake/numero2/girl in black/the other one... ). Meh, can't say I agree. After being shocked by the Ring, yurei horror just doesn't do it for me.

Best J Horror film has to be Noroi.

I'm desperate to see a film that will scare the crap out of me like The Grudge did. Everytime a new horror film comes out I'm always really excited but it never delivers. Paranormal Activity was good, but the second was pants in comparison. Same with REC

But then I prefer ghosts, creepy kind of horror than in your face zombies and stuff. I love that building of tension

If anyone recommends a film in this thread that I like or can personally recommend me one and its a winner. You will be declared Winner of all internets

Watership Down. To this day, the only film that's made me cry with fear. It's been 18 years since I first watched it, so I was 7 at the time, but I've not managed to sit through the whole film again since then. Last time I tried was about 2 years ago and I shook so much I pulled a muscle in my back.

I hate any film with small weird kids in i.e The grudge the noise that thing makes it awful :(

Really dont like poltergeist either, which is making me refuse to watch paranormal activity :p

As long as the "scary" thing i can see ( and is not a small oriental person ) i dont generally get scared by films

Have the american version of REC still in its wrapper on my DVD shelf so will definatly have a look at that one night :)
