Scariest movie you've seen?

IT and Event Horizon always scared the crap out of it.

I've only seen IT once (well, about half of it really) and it just reignited my coulrophobia so I could watch it all the way through.

Hellraiser many years ago.
While reading this thread that was the first I thought of. Part 2 (Hellbound) freaked me out even more. I was 16 when I saw Part 1, 18 for the 2nd, and they were still creepy.

Back in the day films like Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and others like that caused me to jump a few times. Now I find them funny. :)

IT, Amityville Horror, and Phantasm were up there as well.

Yep. I hate them too. I am desperate to watch Dawn of the Dead remake. I have it on Jap DVD (In DTS) and can watch it when ever I want but I want to watch it with my missus and she doesnt want too...
Might give it a go in a bit actually.

I don't hate them at all, I actually love zombie films (my favourite horror/scary type of film) as they are the only films that would make me jump in some scenes and keep me tense while watching them :o and as I said before there the only type of horror film that freaks me out, lol :p

Dawn of the dead is also a very good fast paced zombie film, some jumpy parts.

Might watch it now :p

Did you watch it yesterday then?

What did you think?

Watched Noroi recently. That is very creepy.

Anyone seen the marble hornets thing on youtube?

Dawn of the dead is fantastic... the remake is pretty damn good too. It doesn't peter off at the end either which is a problem with some modern zombie films (28 days comes to mind).

I would like to make a recommendation if you like zombie films. Flight of the Living Dead....

I know how it sounds, but trust me. Watch it (with a bottle of wine or whatever you like to get you a touch tipsy).

Japanese- Ring.
Japanese- The Grudge.

I remember when I watched these I thought "that wasn't that scary" then couldn't sleep for most of the night :p

The Shining, Event horizon and to a lesser extent Jacobs Ladder were films that really freaked me out as a kid.

I'll probably get laughed out of the thread, but The Blair Witch Project scared the brown stuff out of me when I first saw it.

The scene where their tent is being shaken and there are weird noises coming from outside is pretty sketchy. You never actually see anything but the suggestion was more than enough to get you on edge.

With you on that one. I couldn't get the closing scenes, with the bloke stood in the corner, out of my head for days

White Noise, Paranormal Activity, Sex And The City the movie.

Lol at Sex & the City (but I know what you mean!) [Rec] is brilliant, has to be watched in the dark for max effect though. I also liked White Noise (sequel was dreadful though)

The Grudge: I considered myself 'unscarable' with efforts like Event Horizon, Blair Witch Project, Numerous zombie flicks et al all providing entertainment and comedy, yet no chills. So upon taking a girlfriend to the cinema for the opening night of The Grudge (the Western remake no less!) I smugly sat in a full cinema expecting self-contained giggles and an opportunity for the Ol'comforting arm offer...

As the shrieks, wimpers and numerous people ran out of the film I found myself avoiding the screen, fidgeting insanely and not getting to sleep well for a few days!

I fully and utterly ashamedly got pwned :(

Yup, loved the original as well (probably my favourite old classic zombie film), but prefer the new one :D

Was really hoping that there would be a second dawn of the dead film.

Seen it as well :p

It was enjoyable to watch, although seen it years ago and only once, so I can't really remember it that well.

Actually, think I might watch it again sometime this week :D

WTF happened at end of rec 2?

1st one was far better imo. Still not excellent

I actually really enjoyed the second one and preferred it overall to the first one, loved all the little tie-ins linking the 2nd to the first. The ending seemed pretty straight forward to me.

The girl turned into one of these demons because of one of the 'demons' put something into her mouth.

But she acted 'normal' until it kicked in by the end of the film :S?
She then somehow got his voice and managed to get out

That's the best I could come up with lol. If i watched the ending again I could probably figure it out ;)

SPOILERS BELOW***********************

As I say, its fairly straight forward. She only survived the first film because the demon spawned into her (in the flashback which we see at the end with the worm thing going into her mouth), the demon then needs to escape the building so that it can spread itself out into the world, so it "pretends" that she is normal until such time as she can get close enough to the priest to be able to mimic his voice and it can kill off everyone else who might reveal to the people outside who she really is. I've only seen it once but I got that straight away, then again maybe I am some plot line god or something :D
