HTC Desire HD (Ace)

I've accepted my upgrade from the magic with the following

£35 a month, 900 mins, unlimited text, 750mb internet, free phone on a 24 month. Starting to think it isn't that good a deal now :(

I was offered free phone, £32.50/month, 600 mins, unlimited texts, 3gb data, 18 month contract by T-mobile earlier. Kicking myself for not taking it there and then...

that's the same price on their website for new customers, they had a glitch on there if you ordered a sure signal with the VSS20 code get £30 off everything not just the sure signal as it should be. people on the hotukdeals site have order this for £5/month tho unlikely it'll get honoured, I was tempted but didn't have the nerves(also still have till febuary left on my current 12month o2 simplicty £15/month contract).

How...... :(

I don't play with it all day in all honesty

I'll give you a rundown of my current stats.

since unplugged - 1d 12h 36m
Display 47% - 2h 7m
Maps 17% - CPU 3m1s GPS 40m
Cell Standby 15% - 1d 12h 36m
idle 14% - 1d 10h 28m
Andriod system 3% - CPU total 12%
ChompSMS 2% - CPU total 8m17s
Voice calls 2% - 1m39s

I have played some games on it too but not a great deal hence they don't show up on the stats.

As i said previously, my usage isn't typical for others smartphone users, its just typical for me. I work at a desk all day with a computer that has no restrictions on the internet, at home i have my PC and my Macbook Air. My phone also isn't syching emails and facebook all day since i'm at the desk. If i get an email i'll pick it up when i check or when i get home. If it was that important people would have called.

I have a smartphone because its very handy to be able to check the web for a restaurant or use the maps or whatever which I can't do on a normal phone.
I DON'T have a smartphone so that I can watch episodes of tv on the train, twitter my life away every 3 minutes and play games all day etc.

I'm also not a massive social monster. I have a phone at my work desk and a landline at home. I use my mobile for calls if I'm out and about or if I'm calling a mobile and am not at work.

It's best that i don't do phone reviews, they'd all get 5* from me for battery tbh lol.

This market issues is annoying me atm managed to get a few downloads to work through being stubborn by cancelling and restarting but that's not working now.

On battery life, some folks at xda have found turning off vibrate on button press in the settings has helped battery life. I turned mine off immediately anyway since i didn't like the feel of it.

Many people had theirs from Vodafone yet?

I 'pre-ordered' 21st October and have heard nothing since. Not a huge problem not having the phone and from reading around I'm in for a long wait.

What I don't like is that they processed my price plan upgrade straight away rather than when they dispatched the handset.

For anyone interested my upgrade deal was £30, 600 mins, unlimited texts, 500MB so not great, but better than CPW would do on an upgrade.

i had a live wallpaper running yesterday which i didn't over the weekend and the half the battery was sapped in a few hours, the wallpapers should suspend when the screen goes off.
the live wall' didn't rate high in the battery stats though, hmm.

Just tried the Vodafone upgrade team, as the phone is still on pre-order I tried my best to get a deal.

However the guy wasnt budging on £35 a month for a free handset, I did try get £30 with a free handset but he was saying it would be £110 for the handset.

However he said if I phone back towards the end of the week they should be able to do me a deal. I said I would either be looking for a deal or change provider.

What's everyones best deal from Vodafone upgrade team so far?

EDIT: Just phoned again to see if the other person would be the same, this guy recons that they wont be able to do a better deal than £35 a month on a 24 month contract for 3 months.

Bull

Hmm, for the same price that Vodafone are offering I could get a new contract on O2 with a HTC7 (Windows phone 7)

Only downside to this is id have to pay off two months line rental for my current phone, and I will have a new phone number for my HTC Windows phone 7
