Record rise in insurance costs

Get tempted by "available balance: £2500", spend it all, drown in debt

If you are that much of a monkey then you are beyond help.

If you really are that stupid then simply reduce the credit limit to £5 more than the cost of your insurance.

Then get a grip.

See now that sets you apart from the youth of today, thats why one day you will have a nice few quid.

Can't handle any sort of debt, pay rent yearly - just so all my monthly earnings are mine and not getting filtered away onto things I owe or are debits.

Isn't Fox 26 now anyway :p

Just to reiterate, I'm not that much of a monkey. Tons of people are though

Why doesnt it just sit in your wallet

I too am baffled at this fear of credit cards people seem to have, as if having a credit card forces them to max it out and reduce them to debt infested poverty forever more.

It's a plastic card, it goes in your wallet not hidden away in the drawer at home :D

No it doesn't. It's not hidden, it's my drawer

My wallet contains my debit card, driving license, club card and nectar card - eg the stuff i use on a daily basis. All the other stuff like cards for my savings accounts, credit card, blockbuster card, NI card, membership cards etc etc all stay in a drawer at home. Its all stuff i don't need on a daily basis, my wallet would be 3 times bigger with it all in there and it's all more stuff to cancel if my wallet goes walkies......not really sure why that's a difficult concept

Its all good Iain, hiding them at home is just practice for when you have kids :)

Why would you not stick daily spend on the credit card too? Using your debit card is totally pointless, messy for your accounting, and not to mention actually more risky.
