Kind of on topic I guess. I bought myself a 96 1.8 import last week. (paid double what you did LOLFAIL!!)

What are the forums I should be looking at. Looking to pick up a few bits.

Technically and LSD is open until it engages... but yes, typing fail.

My 5 leaves a nice number 11 so I'm pretty sure it has a torsen fitted (1.8 import). Certainly seems to dig in when nailing the throttle mid corner on a dry road. Wet roads I wouldn't recommend it with random Vredestien Hi-Trac tyres on the rear :D

Just wait until you get to drive it on snow....

Drove mine through all the heavy snow last winter and a lot of that was on roads that hadn't been cleared or gritted. The only place I got stuck was works car park which had snow very deep.

Of course it was interesting to drive in that weather, but the skinny wheels/tyres compared to most RWD cars means it wasn't much of an ordeal. I certainly fared better than most :D

I had a right hoot driving to work in mine last year, on about 2 inches of snow. It was 5:00am, totally deserted so I spent most of the journey going diagonally up the road. It's a very easy car to control.

The only problem was when I got to a big hill and stalled it halfway up. I had to ditch the car and get rescued after that because any attempt at going forward ended up with me going sideways.

In sensible snow driving it's actually quite good, I had the 1.8 and it holds on in 5th quite nicely.

The car died of rust after that winter, woops.

Given that I'm just about to receive a nice insurance payout, I'll probably be getting the underside undersealed at some point, may as well protect it :)

Mines a 1.8 import but survived the rust threat thankfully. So easy to drive but passengers are terrified of it. It's a GayMobile FFS! :D

A quick snap from one of my fond memories of driving it in the snow. I get this early morning apocalypse feeling. Nobody is about, everything is covered in a deep blanket of snow and you end up trying to get the most enjoyment out of a bleak situation. Great fun, shame I'm banned during this winter although that's probably a good thing for the car and onlookers :D :(
