still running a pair of 74 gig raptors in raid 0 would i see much difference if i got a OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB to run for a boot driveand use the raptors to store games on many thanks for any advice.
 
Keep saving your pennies and get a 120 -128 GB version and the least. Many people who have brought smaller drives are now upping to this size.

These all use the Sandforce controller and have similiar performance ( check the online reviews)

You would see a big increase if you used a SSD as a boot drive, no mechanical drive can match them for 4k read/writes, and this is where OS stuff is done mainly.

And go for the size u deem fit enough, i personally use a 40gb one as i never go over 30gb on a OS/App partition, so i did'nt need a bigger drive, some like to add games to the SSD, this is where bigger ones help.

But the raptors would be good for game drives.
 
just got a OCZ Vertex 2E Bigfoot 90GB well inpressed by it is it worth pulling the raptors as i put a seagate 1 tb in many thanks
 
is it worth getting the 90gb bigfoot version or wait a month or so for the new intel ones? (question prolly has been asked a lot, but hey!)
 
just wanted to know some peeps thoughts as the old raptors got quick access times but read they not that good nowadays compared to modern 7200 drives
 
with running raptors in raid would i see any performace gain going to ahci in bios instead of raid
