To my knowladge the new Intel drives are coming out in 2-3 months time and I am wondering if it's worth waiting for one of them or getting a OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB?

Other options are a OCZ RevoDrive 50GB or Corsair 60GB Force SSD.

What exactly is the diference between the Corsair 60GB Force SSD and the OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB? To my knowledge there is little to no difference. and I much prefer the Corsair brand to be honest.

Would the RevoDrive be much faster then the Corsair and Vertex drives?

Finally from what I have seen so far the Intel drive won't exactly be that much faster then what is out now. I know they have a better controller and stuff but how bad are these new Sandforce controller drives?

Thanks guys

What I am wondering is, why are people going for the OCZ over the Corsair? They seem to have exact same spec. Are OCZ better drivers and support?

Thanks

Intel g3 spec was posted on some other forum the speeds were the same as the sandforce drives only they come in at 80/160/320/400 sizes.

Yeah I think I will wait. Back to HDD and it's not as bad as I remember. But I know give it a few weeks and it will start to slow down again.

Was thinking of a revo, but all those high numbers and very little real world difference. What's the point then really.

I have had a Intel X-25 drive. Much faster then a HDD. But I don't think a revo will make much difference from a X-25. So I am thinking just wait for G3 and get the higher capacity and reliability with Intel :)

I have seen comparison between the revo and other ssd's. great on benchmarks and high numbers. But then in real world tests not much different.

Those are only the SATA 3Gb speeds, Popular opinion is that the drives support SATA 6Gb and thus sequential speeds similar to the sandforce2 drives, but Intel isn't going to publish the SATA 6Gb speeds until they have a SATA 6Gb chipset out (the P67 / H67, out alongside Sandy Bridge in Q1 2011)

If you have to wait, then these are worth waiting for:
Revo drive x2
Read: Up to 740 MB/s
Write: Up to 720 MB/s
Sustained Write: Up to 600 MB/s
Random Write 4KB (Aligned): 120,000 IOPS

Ow ok. Needless to say tho why if you waiting you be waiting for everything since new tech is out every few months... :P :D

I'm waiting for the capacity rather speed, hence the g3 I want

If I got an ssd now all the micro managing of data would take way longer than the time saved by ssd technology
