Im going to spend till the end of November stocking, by then the licences should be in place, but starting next month its up to my son because its our busy season with the diamonds now till xmas.

Anyway i must away me guests are here, lovely, try and get 100 quid in the hod so we can pay pal him tomorrow.

This is the problem, I'm half tempted by offering £10 as well if the other £490 is found since I'll probably on spend it on something stupid anyway yet I can't help feeling that by contributing it would be encouraging a delusion.

I don't think the argument was that he couldn't buy an awesome* prestige car on his budget. It was just that it isn't the best idea in the world if you don't have some degree of mechanical knowledge and actually need your car to get you places.

*Awesomeness may vary.

I think what clinched it for me was when westy posted the very reasonable running costs of his 93 and the op said "I can't afford that".

That was parts only and very little work needing doing, it's literally the bare minimum of what you could run something like that for, and he can't afford it......but he still wants to go and buy a "nice" car.
