Pokémon - why is it so popular?

I LOVED pokemon when I was a kick, the gameboy game was brilliant :D

Does that mean that you've now grown up into a punch?

I think it's because people have grown up with Pokemon, meaning that more mature people now can remember the quality of the games they played while younger, while the younger generation can get drawn into the games by all the merchandising that surrounds them.

Pokemon is pretty much the game of my childhood, I played it to death and caught them all!

can't wait for Pokemon Black/White to hit EU.

In secondary school, when i was about 12-13-14, (not sure on the dates).

I bought pack's of pokemon cards from the shops, then sold individual cards to others in the year.

Made about £10 a day on that, which for was lot of money back then, for a 13 year old.

Did anyone ever play Pokémon cards?

**** yeah!

Me and my sister had a stack about a foot high of the things.
Still got my Charizard in it's plastic sleeve in a box somewhere, as well as the Ruby equivalent of Charizard (can't remember the name).

Had Red, Yellow, Blue, and Ruby on various GameBoys.

Now I've got a Gameboy emulator with ALL of them. :D

I'm still waiting for a Pokémon MMORPG.
