Could you spec me a £400 PC

Hi all,

Ive recently got back into EVE and my machine dosnt like it, its also about 5 years old now so it needs a face lift.

I also play L4D and L4D2 and Civ 5 as long as they run ok im happy.

I recently got a new card, which ive been reliably informed will work well for some time to come its a Club 3D ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card.

Id be grateful if you could spec the rest of the case, with no OS (ill be buying Windows 7 Home and have budgeted for that).

Also seems that my PSU is good as well, 600w Seasonic. So that 400 can stretch a little further.

Didn't see that post! The OP should consider that as it has a ATX motherboard which will have more slots.

I would personally go for a Samsung F3 over the Seagate 7200.12 although YMMV.

Definitely the i5 build. The only thing I'd change is the MB for the Asus P955ED for the extra £4.

why? what you got planned in the back of your head?

BTW W7 install, is it put in disk and turn on?

go into the motherboard BIOS, set the boot order to, DVD drive first/harddrive second

stick the disk in, and follow the onscreen instructions.

I thought there were student licences for Win7 but im having no joy in finding one.

Thanks for the info. Any comments, where i could get better bits for only a few quid more or possible problems with the build. Also im not Overclocking so is the retail cooler ok on the CPU? I had problems with the c2d Q6600 one thats why i ask.

cpu and socket doesnt match

change cpu to i5 760 and change ram to 2x2gb or change motherboard to socket 1366
