I’ve been doing a bit of research into this, and the MS wireless 5000 and 6000 keyboard in fps games have been reported as being very laggy, and my problems really started when I got a BenQ 1080p screen. Not saying this is the fault, however I read another forum post where the poster said something along the same lines and reported the same issues as me once he’d swapped his screen for another one.
It got worse when I moved the computer room around a bit, apparently few reports of interference causing problems with the wireless signal. My problem is that when I press W to move forward I have to lift off the W key and press again otherwise I pause or stop moving. Its not fluid, same with side stepping and moving backwards. Its very annoying.
I don’t remember it being quite so bad when I first got the keyboard but anyhow I’m not sure if the problem for me is that wireless keyboard for gaming is just useless or I’ve got some other problem meaning I can’t use the wireless keyboard for prolonged key strokes, which for a fps pressing the W key for prolonged periods of time is pretty much standard.
It could just be that wireless keyboard just won’t work in the current environment I’m in. I will also admit that I’ve only ever tried one wireless keyboard, the one I’m currently using, and no other models etc… Hence my sweeping statement of wireless appears to be useless. To me, wireless for all its intents and purposes doesn’t work, and is therefore useless for me.
Anyhow, its decided. Its been ditched in favour of wired.
