I feel for you honestly I do, the price of hardware is up and down like a yo yo, just count yourself lucky it's only 15 quid I paid £450 for my GTX 480 on release :o

And I guess at the time you thought £160 was a good price so I'd remain positive. Especially when I hear such good things about the card.

Hi all,

After much consideration and reading of these forums I went into the OCUk shop only 3 days ago to buy this said card. £159.99 and all was done. Not sure why I ended up looking on here tonight but the same damn card is now £144.99 :(

So go grab yourself a bargain.....they were £15 more expensive 3 days ago: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-064-GI&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1830

I`m sorry to inform you that I bought one of these yesterday @ £144.

This means it will be even cheaper next week. :D

Thanks all. I know it's only £15 but feel ripped off nonetheless. I know I was hapy to spend £160 in the first place, but I'd have been even happier to spend £144.99 :D And if what mame is saying is true then it rips even more :p

Great card though :)

Well I paid £151 for my Gigabyte 460GTX 1GB OC a few days ago and I expected it to be around £10 to £20 cheaper in a few weeks, as that always happens to every purchase I seem to make for my PC ;) . However if I had have held off then the pricing rumour of them going to be more expensive soon would have been true and they would have gone up about £20.!

But it does not matter as I know that I am more than happy with my card and I was certainly happy enough to pay what I did for it. Also I have been using a PC and building my own since my first 386Sx 25mhz, so I am fully aware of how volatile hardware prices can be.

Just imagine those people who paid £500 for a 6800gt or whatever it was back in the day, probably wouldnt be worth 50p now!

As long as you are happy its all that matters

What you should do is to never buy any hardware, ever. That way you will never be caught out by the consistent price drops that always seem to happen. *cough*Ignore ATI 58-- series cards *cough*

Fantastic price on the gigabyte.... unfortunately just the way things are...next week could be £140 or £160 !?

...just enjoy it while its nice and shiny and take comfort that you didnt pay £170+ for it! Theres always gona be someone who got ripped off more than you...take comfort in that!

hm i bought at about £180

but i have also had umpteen faultless months use out of it.

id happily pay £10-15 a month to rent a great graphics card. so im not Unhappy, although i always like to save.

Lol. I bought a 5850 last year... was £200. It went up to £240. I sold it for £200. Then I bought a 5870 for £300. They are still £300. It is crazy lol :D
