Call of Duty: Black Ops

You going to turn it off?

It will be interesting to see just how badly it effects playing.

I will be leaving it on. I have read others have tried it off and they found it difficult to track running players.

I'm sure it will have a negative effect on one on one fire fights also. Especially if you use cover and pop up and fire. This is where auto aim shines.

i take it it's not possible to have 'no aim assist' rooms then ?
I'd imagine you'll be far better off with it switched on unless u have ninja thumbs or something :p
I suck at FPS's with a pad but its not even fun using auto aim, would rather play on a lower difficulty than use auto aim

BUT if everyone usues it online and it gives an advantage (pretty sure it will) then ...well....dang!

Ill try it without auto-aim assuming that is soley the tracking effect it gives, ie. pulling the aim in a group of enemy to follow the one thats moving thats exceptionally annoying!

If something more magical happens, which I expect it does where your grouping of rounds almost homes in on the enemy to make a kill then probably not. Fundamentally this is why when I played BF1943 it was obvious how much more accurate you had to be to land a shot.

No idea without trying, but it could almost be like steady aim with a circular hit zone around the reticle rather than point of the reticle.

NOTE: Pure conjecture above.

Both statments are correct it's a pain in the backside when you see a group of enemies that you have to spray at to drop as the aim assist helps hit the first but to "suckoff" to the second takes longer as the aim is slowed.

With aim assist off what you will find is that if the enemy strafes even an inch on your screen you won't be used to it and will late correct whereas if the otherplayer has aim assist on he can dance around you knowing that his reticle will be neatley in the hit boxes. This is where I think whomever is trying it out will immediately put it back on.

all this talk of auto aim yet it wasnt till a few weeks ago i finally increased my camera sensetivity as i never seemed to be able to keep up with other players on the default one and was getting annoyed with it now im normally in the top 2/3 in FFA games and normally one of the top in TD also.

Putting yourself at a permanent disadvantage to the rest of the cod playing world... Great idea.

I have to confess that for every time it messes up your shot there are far more times when auto aim gets you a kill. If you play a few matches with the FAMAS and M16 in MW2, the auto aim is more noticeable. You do get kills when you really shouldn't have.

I cancelled my shopto order as my sainsbury's(paignton) are opening till 1am for it plus staff discount 15% off :p

Sainsbury's doing the same deal as fifa by the looks of it.
Memo from head office earlier on tonight said it,ll be £24.97 when you spend £30 or more in store at the same time.
Probably be £37.99-44.99 when bought on its own.

OT, but I love that Sainsbury's. Great breakfast in the cafe and very convenient for when I'm on holiday down there :p

you are talking like auto aim is some major big thing, the only time i have noticed auto aim is the suck effect and once i was using a sniper scope and it just sped up my tracking on someone because i was a bit slow that time, those are the only times ive noticed it, never in close combat, maybe its their but i can honestly say i dont notice it and im pretty sure i would know if it was having a effect. so no i dont think its a disadvantage to have it off.

i guess ppl with low sens notice it much more because the auto aim speed is faster than some of the lower sens settings, im on 8-10(ps3 10)

even if it was a disadvantage and i stuck at it and got used to it...wouldnt it be me who would have the advantage? it would have to be extremly hard to the point where im having no fun to turn it back on again but surely treyarch wouldnt give the option of turning it off if it was mega hard without it on.

You have not noticed it becuase it has never been off so therefore have always thought that it's you correcting the aim which you have actually never corrected in the firstplace...ahh you will see what I mean on the 9th, wait untill you try it switched off.

MW1,MW2 and WAW have masses of auto aim, it's also the reason why kiddies can quick scope, auto aim is also amplified on higher sensetivity which as a side effect makes quick scoping at level 10 easier lol.

Another thing you may not know is that anyone running around with an aim bot has actually had the auto aim sensitivity turned up, no added code no big scripts just the in game setting tweaked a little.
