I just brought sup com2 :( what pants that is , oh well only 5 odd quid . But it has got me interested in that style of rts . So whats out there that i should be looking at purchasing . I loved supreme comander 1 and all the early command ana conquar games but havent tried anything since sop com 1 .
What are the thoughts out there ???

yer, I feel your pain.

All I can say is the last RTS's (if they classed as such) that I really enjoyed are:

Company of Heros
World in Conflict

Dont think I've enjoyed one since! :)

Its not bad as such, its just a pitiful game when compared to its predecessor. In isolation its a decent game, completely dumbed down but its still a better game than the latest C&C games. Theres no tiered units, everythings just as crap as each other and theres practically no choice between them, the only jump is Experimental which still suck. It lost all the feeling of a large scale war that made TA and SC what they were and made a giant leap towards the small pitched battles of C&C.

This really. Its not Supreme Commander at all, really. Its mediocre commander at best :3

Don't think there is anything similar to Supcom 1 atm. Ruse promised much, but in reality the maps are still smaller than those in Supcom 1. I feel sorry and angry at Chris taylor for what he did to the game.

Has anyone even got that DLC? Came so long after release, just gave the impression that they couldn't be arsed to do a proper expansion.

Starcraft II

excellent single player and the multiplayer goes without saying really.. Give that a go.

All of the Starcraft Series has been amazing though to be fair

Total Annihilation + Expansions + TAUCP (fanmade units and AI boosts)

Definitely would recommend this. Truly amazing game. For the more 'modern' game however, Forged Alliance is the way to go. Enjoy :D

+1 TA is fantastic especially witht the expansion pack, mods and user units

I agree, i bought it and played 2 games and turned it off it just doesn't feel right.

Im a big fan of RTS if its mass battles you want try one the total war series they're pretty good.

Starcraft II is worth a try too, i enjoyed what i played of the single player and the graphics are really good too.

coming for a different route, have you tried Sims 3 lol its actually quite addictive

Ohoh.. +1 for the Total War series... although i only played upto Rome, going to have to try some of the newer ones!

im playing through napoleon at the minute and i thought the use of firearms was going to be better but its not really, i recommend Medievil 2 and there is a LOTR mod you can get for the expansion pack which looks good but i haven't tried it yet.
