Work Issue...this is gonna make you laugh (or cry)

Twist it on it's head. Tell them you were complimenting him by saying he's a woman. it's sexist for her to assume negative connotations associated with being called a woman.

Just donkey punch her in the...

Seriously though most women like you have explained need a slap of reality and a good dose of 'GETOFFURHIGHHORSE' but just a slap would be funnier. Don't worry about it, as you say no one was there I wouldn't have even let it be mentioned from there after and just forgot about it.

edit: I like the above, Twist it to your benefit. Try not to overdo it though, it only needs a bit of word smithery to work fully.

I'd have laughed at her then walked off.

Why are people saying, apologise. Apologise for what exactly?

im not worried in the sense of me getting in trouble, im a big boy and can handle a warning however stupid i think it may be (if it comes to that), i just dont think my boss needs it at the mo especially with the whole boss vs boss dynamic in our office as described above.

i guess i didnt want to do the whole conversation as its just boring, and it really didnt last more then 30 seconds...

it went something like:
m:calling him a women
h: dont say that its offense
m: no its not
h: yes it is, i feel insulted
m: go and compain

and that was it...anyway i thought it would have all blown over by today, but shes still got a chip on her shoulder- go figure.

Classic playground behaviour. She obviously has a massive wide on for you and is acting out so you notice her. If I were you I would give her a nice wink and a pat on the bum. Eveyone's happy and you both move on.

not sure that will work haha but i have thought of that!

as a bit of a comparison to just demonstrate this: on the friday i was doing some work for another team that involved opening envelopes to get tests out (fun i know). and a girl in the team opened one with no details on and went on to say that whoever it was , was a spakker etc!

and everyone just shrugged and moved on....passing comment and nothing more, no need to take it to defcon 10.

Offending her? As I said before, it costs nothing and would have avoided this issue.

I don't think what was said should be taken offensively, but in the interests of not getting arsey or have someone be arsey with me at work I'd have just apologised and got on with it. It wasn't meant offensively so there's nothing lost by just smoothing it over.

What's the point in taking such a rubbish stance? Just get on with it, life's too short.

Women like this irritate me, I bet when someones boyfriend/husband etc does something wrong she is the first to say "MEN!" *rolleyes*
I think if she is a mard arse and always complains about stuff perhaps your boss will sigh when she puts in the complaint and think 'not another one' and im sure the other ladies in the office would back you up and explain its not a daily thing.
If you want an easy escape route, just apologise (not that you should have to) and then wait for the next sexist remark that comes out of her mouth and tell her its offended you.
Good luck with it all.

this is true, but to me this has turned into priniciples.....your right life is too short, and definatly too short to be trying to mince my words everytime she around just incase she gets all arsey because shes in the wrong mood.

WOMEN! *rolleyes*

Modern day feminists are kinda pathetic really, well the ones who take themselves too seriously at least. Everyone is all for equal everything but some are clearly just man-haters who think we only want to rape them and that we all hate them, grr.

Oh and more on topic and off rant, don't sweat it OP.

problem with today society, is that discrimination comes into play. which means office banter which seems harmless to one person could mean discrimination to someone else. i.e. "calling someone an old f@rt" they could take it personally, and unfortunately some people are like that

What I find more offensive (and correct me if I'm wrong) is that it appears she was taking offence at a man being called a woman, as if women are somehow degraded by having a man inducted into their ranks.
