New 360, slim over elite?

You mean the old elite? If thats the case then yes, its quieter has built in wireless its smaller lol.

More reliable, although you would effectively get a 3 year warranty with the Elite if bought new as opposed to a 1 year warranty with the slim, but most importantly the biggest plus for me personally was how much quieter the system is, it's really made me fall in love with the gaming on the 360 again.

I have an original premium so anything will be quieter. Not bothered about wireless, I've seen elites for £140 so I can't really see how it's worth the extra cash for a slim.

Or a 120gb elite, I also think the slim looks pants so think it will be an elite, I'm gonna have to get black battery packs :(

I'm on the verge of trading in my Elite for a slim before it RRODs.

Previous model did, returned then did it again and two of my mates Elite have done the same thing.

Very tempted to trade in before it borks itself...

Yes, microsofts idea of fixing the overheating problem is to change the warranty from 3 years to 1. Problem solved! At least for them.
And they're still using noisy DVD drives by all accounts.
If you have the wifi dongle, controllers and everything, it's a tricky choice. Still reports of the slim overheating and with it being new, nobody knows how long they will last. At least with the elite you're guaranteed 3 years, it's your call.

Without the Slim you just won't be elite. Your friends and family will turn on you because you're pathetic. It just has to be the Slim.

Only silent if you install games to hard drive, otherwise it's still quite loud. But with the 250GB hard drive that won't be a problem!
Of course it's also smaller and more energy efficient. On top of that it looks cool, and the built in wireless will have you set-up and owning noobs with ease.
You will be the envy of your social group with a new Slim.

But seriously I can't add any more to that, totally up to you man.

So if you think it looks pants why even bother asking?

thought it mite have some extras over the 'original' 360, but if wifi is it then i dont need that as my xbox sits next to my router and the router is a bit dodgy with wifi connections.

is 4gb even enough space to keep all saves? its £200 for a slim with a 250gb hdd, why dont they do a middle ground instead of 1 extreme to the other :/

has anyone seem just the console for cheaper than £200?

No. Microsoft's idea of fixing the overheating was completely changing the design of the console. Maybe you should look into such things before making such a wild claim.

If you are a 24/7 gamer then get the elite for the 3yr warranty. When the warranty is up get the Slim which will then be cheaper and any faults will have surfaced.

There will be some good deals with black ops or kinect coming soon I woulda thought so if you do go the slim route I would hold of a few days if either of them interest you.

not interested in kinect and got cod on the way anyway.

think i mite just get an elite for £140 then replace after 3 years if need be.

Having had the 360 from launch then trading it in for an elite which after about a yr of owning the dvd drive stopped working...cost me £80 to get it replaced which i then traded in for the 250gb slim....have to say the slim is the best one out of all of them due to the quietness of it.

Personally it should have been the slim that should have originally launched the 360.
