Lovely? It looks pretty tatty to me, lovely shiney steering wheel as well.

And in 6-12 months time nobody will be interested in selling him a warranty so when it all goes wrong, which it will, he'll need another loan just to fix it.

What about it* looks tatty?

*that you can see in those photos

That could be glare of the camera on the steering wheel, the seats dont look too scabby. Mat looks a bit ropey though.

well to put it into perspective, when i worked 1 mile from work, i still put 25k miles on my audi in 2 years ;)

400 work miles a week though can easily turn in to 600-800 a week with personal mileage. That starts to cross the line between petrol and diesel.

I dont see any issue with the diesel requirement here.

I do think though that a 5+ year old car you'll take towards 100k reasonably quickly is a bad thing to buy on finance. It's going to break, you wont have a warranty and its going to cost big money to keep repairing.

The complexity of these cars keeps increasing but the reliability doesnt seem able to keep up.

I wouldnt want a diesel BMW with iDrive and an autobox without knowing it'll be under warranty for my entire ownership period.

Sadly that means buying one newer than 5 years old and with less than 77k miles on it.
