I reckon a dead body would be pretty useless after less than a week. Being exposed to dirt, grime and the elements, decomposition is going to occur quickly. They may not end up as small puddles of mush, but I reckon enough tissue will slough off and/or be eaten to make it unable to move, let alone be a threat.

That's before we get on to whether it is cold [zombies will freeze] or very hot [zombies will dessicate]. No, traditional walking-dead zombies hold no fear for me.

The still-alive rage-zombies found in 28 Days Later or I Am Legend, now those are zombies to tool up for! :D
 
1) Whats the first thing you'd do, besides change your underwear?

Raid hospital for biosuit, wear it until you find if Zombie plague is airborne/bloodborne etc. Get home, check the situation with wife, then extended family.

2) What weapon would you choose to carry and how would you go about getting those weapons?

Blunt object immediately available, upgrade to large spiked object, so you can poke them at length, then guns and preferable some form of deterrant weapon, likely a jury-rigged gas-tank flamerthrower as I doubt military issued type equipment would be easily available. Flames could also help neutralise viral airborn particles.

3) If you had choose an Non Military Vehicle to drive what would it be?

Any large car, 4*4, doesn't matter as long as it can accelerate swiftly if needed and survive without large damage in collisions with human sized objects.

4) If you could choose Military Vehicle would it be?

Tank would be unnecessary, but APV would be nice, storage for supplies/weapons etc, room for survivors found upon travels, large fuel tanks, and mainly able to cover most terrains.

5) How many people would you choose to have in your group?

As many as would be found, found to be fit, and have same idology, the rest rejected.

6) Who would you like to watch the most, being eaten by a Zombie?

no one really annoys me that much I suppose, I guess Chris Moyles if I had to choose anyone, just to make sure his breakfast show was off the air once adn for all.

7) Given the choice.... would you prefer to die or become a Zombie?

Become a Zombie, someone might work out how to reverse the process.

8) And finally... What would your ultimate goal be, besides not die of course? You're in a Zombie Apocalypse world where there are no emergencies broadcasts anywhere?

Initially survive, assess longterm possibilities, if there was no one, and setting up my own emergency broadcast yielded no one, I'd probably spend a long period of time training myself to fly. Then fly country to country in an attempt to find living populations.

I am Legend were Vampires, not Zombies and the virus was airborne, so if you're still alive then you are either immune or you will change when the virus activates.

The T Virus also infects by direct blood contact, so you would need to be bitten or be infected by breaking the skin directly.

Romero Zombies are viral anyway.

And you would know exactly how the zombie disease is transmitted, when you come out from a coma. Some zombie films only need blood in mouth/eyes and you are done.
It would be absolutely stupid to take the risk before you knew.

Uh!, it wouldn't matter would it. How many machine guns or samurai swords would you find in a hospital.

What would be really stupid is to not defend yourself with whatever was at hand just because you don't know the cause of the Zombie Infection or how it's transmitted. That is the quick way to get dead.

I would simply arm myself with whatever was available. I would not even know that a zombie plague had taken place to begin with anyway, it would not stop me from arming myself if I woke from a coma to an empty smashed up hospital.

Hell I look for probable escape routes, possible weapons and ambush points on the Underground and in the street, especially at night now (in real life), let alone in that situation.

Besides if the zombie virus was that easy to contract then you are living on borrowed time regardless.


Also how many people in this country do you think know the first thing about using a firearm?, in all likelihood most would either shoot their compatriots or themselves before getting a head-shot on a zombie. Far less risk with a dirty great big chainsaw or sword. Wear googles and a mac if you are concerned about the mess.

1) Find some suitable clothing, Army surplus stuff, as its pretty robust

2) SA80 assault rifle, theres bound to be abandoned military outposts dotted about for crowd control and the like...

3) Some sort of large quad or another... like someone said pleanty of off roading capability!


4) challenger 2 main battle tank

5) As few as possible, enough to operate my tank!!!

6) All politicians!

7) Zombie, so I could eat the politicians

8) Find the cause of the apocolypse and try to stop it!
 
Chainsaw? linking dangerous things they are! At least you wouldn't be able to kill yourself with a rifle (unless you were very (un)lucky!). I'd say I can handle a weapon well enough (at least better than a chainsaw) so I'd be fine with a pistol, rifle and probably automatic weapon (although haven't used an auto before) so as long as I had rounds I'd be able to use them.

1. Work out where I was and what threat there was around me, then decide what to do from the safety of the highest room.

2. Weapons: Auto shotgun from The Expendables...;) Or more seriously I'd arm myself with the biggest sharp object I could find then head over to Windsor Castle (or the nearest location with armed guards) and find a rifle/automatic weapon or two. Shouldn't be too difficult, although it may involve having to get into the castle proper.

3. Non military vehicle: I'm already in Windsor Castle (having stolen a car or ran to get there) so would see if there was an armoured vehicle in the garage. If not get a decent police landy.

4. Military vehicle: A decent APC, not too big but not too small, with some kind of military weaponry inside and on it so I could hole up in it and take out zombies from the inside. Depending on how infectious the zombies were I may decide on a vehicle with NBC protection (such as a tank).

5. A couple of dozen or so, depending on food supplies. I'd keep myself holed up in Windsor Castle, shut the main doors and have an almost impregnable building that could comfortably hold hundreds and probably has it's own water supply as well as emergency power generation. The large outdoor space would give people plenty of space to excercise and have fun safely.

Ultimate Goal: Clear out the castle of zombies and bodies and make it liveable. Get supplies in from around the town and surrounding area and make it livable for a long time. After that, hopefully having found a Pilot head off by helicopter to somewhere uninfected (deserted island or oil rig), otherwise clear up the zombie mess if they died and try and start again/find other survivors.

So once I get to Windsor Castle I'd not have a bad life. :D

Shotgun. Lots of farms in the UK

Land Rover defender. One of the raised ones that the energy and water companies use with a winch and so on.

Not really sure about this, it would need to be rugged but fast enough not to be smothered in zombies every time you go for a drive. Possibly a Humvee depending on what country I'm in

FIND A QUIET VILLAGE TO LIMIT THE CHANCES OF ZOMBIE ENCOUNTERS AND TRY AND LIVE IT OUT UNTIL THE ZOMBIE GO HUNGRY
 
Depends what sort of Zombies these are? Are we talking bog standard slow walking masses? Or are there 'specials' or even 'fast' ones?

Firstly if I was alone and had no real chance of meeting up with someone and couldnt find a car with fuel and also guns, then id look to top myself asap. Id rather that than the feeling of being eaten alive.

If survival was a possibility, id head towards sea - get a decent Yacht/Motorboat and just moor out far enough that Zombies wouldnt make it. Id only need water, as I could fish for food.
 
1) Rationalise, get a grip. Devise a starter plan. Assuming you've woken up in hospital al la 28 days later style, Pointless leaving the security of the hospital non level headed. (you've come out of a coma, the hospital is sort of safe if you've been there that long and not been eaten in your sleep)

2) i'd probably head to maintenance, and grab a crowbar. depending on the type of zombie (running or skulking) a crowbar would be ideal for skulking zombies, but running zombies would require something different..like um... a bit more long range. i'll stick with the crowbar for now.

3) probably some sort of scrambler motorbike. if i couldnt find that, some sort of SUV.

4) military vehicle? hmm... probably a tank, they cant be that hard to drive, right? plus you've got the canon, and LMG's attached to it. literally impenetrable, so fill it with food and live in it basically. if you cant sleep and things get too noisy or whatever with zombies hanging round outside, either gun em down or drive off somewhere else.

5) maybe 2 or three of us. actually, 2 of us. three's a crowd... and a liability.

6) michael mcintyre. that would be the funniest set he'd ever do.

7) i'd rather put a bullet through my brain that be eaten by a zombie.

8) my ultimate goal, would be survival.


eventually the zombies would die out due to hunger. after that i'd probably learn how to fly in a small piper biplane. then move on to bigger things like a eurofighter. eventually fly somewhere like a nice island with the least amount of rotting smelly corpses. eject out of my eurofighter and live the rest of my solitary life like tom hanks on castaway.

Well hopefully there will be hi fi system available:D.

As soon as I see zombies in large numbers rounding up on me, I would hit the hi fi and start the 'Thriller' dance lol. So while zombies are caught up in the dance I would pick up a shotgun, baseball/cricket bat, m4 etc and start smashing their heads and hopefully the ones who have been hit will be dead on spot:D.

As soon as they notice what is happening and become hostile towards me I would start the hi fi again and repeat the dance again lool:p and carry on doing the same trick on them. (Assuming 'thriller' song gets them all in the dance mood).

Ofcourse this will be a long process but I got nothing to lose and hopefully make it to some transport vehicle like car or jeep nearby and get to other survivors:D.
