I've encountered my first major bug and its potentially gamebreaking....unless anyone knows of a fix. I've googled but come up with nothing.

I lost Ed-E in Vault 11. He didn't die and I didn't tell him to wait, he just disappeared and I assumed he would just turn up. I carried on without him as I still have his enhanced sensors perk.

Anyway, I've now reached Caesar's tent and I cannot go in because companions must stay outside, the problem being the game thinks he is still with me....but he's not visible for me to issue the wait command :confused:

I've gone back to Vault 11, Lucky 38 and Primm trying to find him to no avail.

I don't really want to load an old save game which was maybe 10 hours ago to get him back just to ditch him properly.

Unless I stop playing and wait for a patch my only other option is to try and blast my way through to Caesar, which on Hardcore is very difficult. I tried and failed :(

I was really enjoying the game until this :/

If you was on PC you can enter a command to make companions warp to your location. I think that's one of the reasons everyone says the game is much better on PC; you can fix stuff yourself. :p
 
Yeah, I've read that myself. I think this is the first game I've ever played that a bug has stopped me from finishing it. I'm sure there have been many other games with a game breaking bug but I can't personally think of any.
 
Legion camp has Ballistic fists, You will have to cause some trouble though lol, Like me earlier today I level'd the place. Killed everyone lol

lol I had to do this by mistake because for some unknown reason ED-E decided to take a pot shot at a centurion, after that it was a battle to the death with me emerging victorious but well hacked off with the stupid flying robot!

Without being able to check, is vault 22 the one with all the plants in it? I didn't lose him in there so why would he be there? :p Its irrelevant anyway, I returned the game. I'll buy it again when I know its been patched as all my save games are broken anyway.

they just appear there for some reason no matter where you leave them.

you returned it? lol
 
You need to stay away from vault 3. More specific the maintenance area. I managed to recreat the save game glitch from going in their which wasn't good because I had to go a different way with the brotherhood questline that I didn't want to go but I wanted power armour training more!
 
I dont get why everyone used ED-E anyway, Rex is too awesome :) Add Boone and you pretty much never have to draw your weapon
