So far i'm extremely impressed with this, will list brief pro's & cons as it's 11:30pm over here and I have work at 7 tomorrow!
Pros:
- So far the story has been excellent, amazing set pieces with great voice acting. I actually can't wait to hop back on tomorrow and carry it on.
- The graphics are a good improvement over the last COD game. This engine has aged extremely well and they've manage to pull off some amazing locations and effects on it.
- As weird as this sound, the aiming feels really quick and precise. Tap L1, a quick burst and people drop.
- Great variety of weapons. All of them feel individual and sound amazing. Loving the Commando with a Red dot at the moment. Big Grin
- Multilayer is finally balanced, feels like going back to the good old COD 4 days where you're being tested on your skill in game and not relying on air support to get the kills for you.
- Well layed out maps. The sizes are perfect, originally I though they look a bit big but I think they're the right size. Nuketown is a laugh to play on also.
- The purchase system is amazing. No more grinding for like in MW2 and COD4, you simply but what you want as long as you're a high enough level (for some items).
- Contracts. Took about 3 of the low level ones out today and it adds so much tension and excitement when on multi. Can't wait to do more.
- No connection issues whatsoever on-line (so far). Manage to connect to every game within about 5-10 seconds though usually it just drops me into a lobby straight away. Always have 3-4 green bars and it feels really smooth.
- Excellent value for money. Even though I paid £40 for this (about $70-80) I really do feel i've gotten my moneys worth. So many different modes, you basically have infinite re-play value because of the excellent on-line play.
That's a quick sum up, bear in mind that i've only spent about 2 hours if that on multi as i've been playing single player all day today. Not tried zombie yet as well.
Cons:
- Retarded team-mate AI on single player Veteran. I always play games on the hardes difficulty setting and in the majority of the games you get help from your AI companions, on here the mainly stand around shooting into walls or looking the wrong way. This has been an issue with the COD series since the 4th one, I would have though they could have done something about it by now.
- Constantly re-spawning enemies on some sections. My God, I though I might brake something when I was playing a mission where you have to pierce 3 barrels of Napalm. You have infinite Vietcong running at you from all sides and angles and you start at the top of a hill working your way down, horrible I tell thee.
- Some low-res textures in multiplayer. I guess that's to keep the game smooth for when things get hectic but some of the textures look like something off an original XBox and a PS2. COD4 and MW2 were prettier than this in my opinion on-line.
Just a few quick questions. How do you unlock the 2 other Zombie maps and how do you make/invite/join parties?
