Call of Duty: Black Ops

Anybody else also having a complete lack of 'feel' for the game with regards to ingame sounds and to using headphones?

There doesn't seem to be the indepth sounds in this game like in MW2.

Why?

Yep, disappointing after that clarity of MW2 even with X1s. I was playing zombies running to the wrong part of the map based on the sounds.

For everything else Ill play more before commenting, the score cards appear a little confusing but its always nice to have more data and its a familiarity thing to get over. It doesnt seem to have moved on much from WaW though in terms of the dynamics of a TDM but then i never played that on MW2 either, just to need to unlock stuff, or should I say buy! Thats gonna take getting used to!

Atleast my Tesco order turned up

Finally got on this yesterday, am undecided. They completely ruined sniping though making it not an option if you want a k/d above .1, and steady aim is comically broken. Meh, will play some more today probably and get a better opinion.

Don't get me wrong, the environmental sounds (eg on Launch) and the RC XD cars are great, I can hear when one is about, but it's the gun fire, the enemy/friendly footsteps that I seem to be missing out on the details of.

Yea agree, I think most of the time it sounds like every1 is shooting in a big metal tin, not matter if you in a wood house, outside or in a cave , there is no directional sound, and every1 sounds like they have those metal studs on there shoes like they were in ww2 .

This +1!

What little i have seen it doesnt seem to be as graphically good as MW2 and as above the sound FX dont seem great either but in all honesty aint we all after the better playability option?

For me if it improves on the MW2 even a little bit then its £30.00 well spent, however until i give it a good 'half a bottle of wine' session i will reserve judgement!

Postie been and gone and no game yet again and to rub it in.. the only mail was TESCO clubcard letter.. GRRR thats it, reserved at local shop and off to buy it. Will stick the tesco one on MM as soon as it arrives.

Just to say my 2x copies both arrived on Tues afternoon ( accidentally ordered twice) and I am across the water in Belfast, so before a lot of you slate ShopTo ad be more inclined to ask what your local Posties are up to!

My Tesco copy that I ordered lunchtime Monday, has just arrived.

Can't complain at that tbh. :)

£25 bargain.

I'd hoped that the connection weighting might have been toned down in BO but it's as bad as it's ever been.

I normally have full connection bars and manage to do average - good in most games. As soon as it makes me host, everyone else has full connection and it's stupidly easy to rack up the points regardless of what gametype I'm playing and come out with a k/d at the end around 4.00-6.00.

I know that's probably the case because of how little time it takes to die in the game so milliseconds really matter, but the host bias is a little silly.

Just out of curiosity what kind of available bandwidth do you guys get in game status?

Mine is always around 2,028Kbps (is this download or upload bandwidth)?

In multiplayer, select options, then press back to get the info. Also tells you there what NAT type you have.

Gonna MM mine today. I just don't care enough about it. I'd rather play something else. It's really decent and had I not played MW2 for the last year I'd be all over it.

My connections have always been excellent, even in the groundwar games we played as a party last night it was nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

This game has gone from next to no UAVs to constant UAVs meaning ghost is the only decent option. The maps are good, although graphically I prefer the look of MW2.

I can't even begin to build any enthusiasm to play the SP, so I will pass this one up.
