Rape outside my place of work

Really. I honestly must be dead inside, as my reaction isn't one of shock on hearing about crimes/deaths etc which have happened locally.

It's more the fact it happened right outside where we all work. Had it been some other location in Nottingham, even just round the corner, I'm sure we wouldn't be so surprised. Rape doesn't make even the slightest news broadcast these days.

I have to say, I'd be pretty unfazed about this if it were, say, a murder. I remember hearing about a guy who was stabbed to death in the public loos down the road from my old house, I went to see if I could see any blood stains or anything but that's about as far as my interest went. When I read about rapes in my local paper, they unsettled me more deeply - I'm repulsed by sexual assault more than pretty much any type of crime of which I hear. It always strikes me as something inherently evil or, at its best, bestial and I find it the most vile of crimes.

Empathy, OP :(

Why was a 17 year old out at 4am? Probably out drinking, nothing special.

Not meaning to detract from the horrific nature of rape but that's a silly question.

Where does it mention rape, sexual assault is classed as virtually anything sexual in nature and against their will, so pinching someone's bum is sexual assault.
Seems very vague to me.
