Call of Duty: Black Ops

I had the same problems with WaW at the start. Hated the maps. But now, I think they were some of the best maps of COD. Don't think I liked any of the MW2 maps.

As for the RC cars, why not shoot them then? Or even better, semtex.

RC cars seem fine to me. Only been killed by 3 or 4 in about 10 hours of play. The sound on them is really directional.
 
The RC cars are fairly easy to defend against if you can hear them coming.... personally, I think they're a great addition, especially when you're the one controlling them ;)

It's the end bit that is making me grin but the downside is that half of the IW staff that made MW2 have left so no idea what the new one will be like.


What gun is he using?

That be the Famas with the WRONG skin on it as the selector clearly shows it set to 3 burst when in fact it should be on infinity

He picks up and Enfield later on.
 
Hopefully the half that left were the ones that thought constant air support, infinite noob tubes, and commando lunge was a good idea. :)

No worries there. Respawn Entertainment will take care of those need then lol as the majority of them signed up with them after leaving IW.


I got to be honest it's only Commando I got a real problem with (and QS but I have aired that allready), if I get tubed I tube back, and the constant air support 9/10 times was put up by us anyway. The UMP is a godly weapon but upclose the TAR21 will outdo it constantly, and at range the ACR will outshoot it. Everyone calls the UMP unbalaced as it has a high damage point but tbh the reason it is used a lot is because it is a gun for all seasons of play.

MW2 seems only unbalanced when you are a loan player getting smacked by a good team over and over, There is no godly means of an in game patch balancing that. Im sure give this game a couple of months and it will be the same "this game is unbalanced stuff" all over again, I'm allready hearing it about the AK74u which I know is a good gun as I have posted about it here, but come on at range all the LMG's wipe it out.
 
Its not that I got smacked. I played TDM & FFA on my own and my K: D was 3.95 its just I like my FPS games with more gun fights. And this game has more kills coming from guns.

MW2 was too much like first person bingo with guns. Just preference though.

Lol yep every game he pulls host on he has "that ration" in. As I said in the post look at his channel and the FFA he plays - Host advantage for the win again because this game requires more bullets fired to kill then any other cod I think Sandy is going to have a field day.

Another point listen to simon at the start of the video commenting on Sandys 30/30 NY based Fiber Connection.

I have seen Sandy playing when not host and he certainly doesn't have the huge advantage (depending on the connection) like in the videos we all see, I have also seen him negative and quit matches.

Firstly, watch some of his stuff that is on justin.tv... for the most part he hardly ever gets host because all of them rage quit and we see the host migration screen. Yes he has a good connection, but he had a mate around on one of his streams and he wasn't dropping people as easily as he was playing on the same console and on his connection. Coincidence?

Obviously it's not a true reflection watching him play on his live streams as that must hurt his connection streaming and playing at the same time, regardless of whether it is 30/30.

He is just very very good at CoD.:D

MW2 was the first FPS I played and I absolutely loved it. Wasn't particularly interested in single player. I loved MP though, would I disappointed with this game? Is it as good as MW2 online?

My win loss was only just in the + literally just a one to one for team death match. I usually only play for 20 mins or so and usually join the losing team :) and then go on to lose... or maybe win depending on my team. So it was a bit random. The time I got on for an afternoon with a few mates we won every game of TDM, think it was 14 or 15 straight matches (not very high for most peoples streaks) for the whole time we played, but we never seem to have the time to hook up together.

I'm avoiding slayer games completely for this game as I'm really enjoying rushing around on objective games and putting myself on the line for the greater good. And in TDM after a while I got wrapped up in my K: D nothing that would make me quit a bad game but one that effected my enjoyment of what is after all just a game.


You're right though, I played MW2 much more then any other COD. I guess you'll get sick or certain parts of any games. Plus its early days for BO.

My aim now is rotten after 3 months off game.

Oh sorry yheah have you got a link to his Justin.tv (where I watch him rage quit occasionally and more LIVE If you watch the "highlites" then i suggest staying up to watch the live game as the highlites are just the best of his 2-4 hour streams) I haven't seen the enemy rage quit on him live yet and I did say he is a good player but his connection is unbelievable (again I will repeat myself WHEN HE DOESN'T HAVE HOST AND DEPENDING ON THE CONNECTION he still does well but not as magically as when he is host) He is a god at FFA and soundwhores his ass off as do I (the soundwhore bit), ask a few on the forum what I am like at FFA on MW2 I may loose 1 in 10 games as I find the Soundwhoring wins that game type.

I enjoy watching the videos as much as the next person but come on the vid above is pure Host advantage, and I'm sure as he gets to know spawn points and the maps that score will be more like 120 - 1.

And the stream does nothing to his connection at all. infact all the recent vids for the last 4-5 months are from broadcasts bar 2 AFAIK

I find it hard to believe that this was the intended implementation of the sounds in in game.

To say that removing footsteps altogether, which is what has been effectively done (since ninja PRO barely makes a difference in hearing enemies sprinting around the map), is in anyway a rational response to 'soundwhoring' is ludicrous...In a TACTICAL game, in ALL tactical games so far, and in all that will follow, the following paradigm exists: You run, you will be heard a mile away; You walk, you will be heard; You crouch and creep, you will be silent.

If this is a bug, please admit it and fix it when you can...The responses I have read from Vahn make this seem like it was intended, which I personally find hard to believe...It's game breaking...As good as Treyarch has been with WAW and BO, I find it impossible to believe that something this fundamentally vital to gameplay has been omitted deliberately. I understand this is not MW2, and it should not be ultimately based on it. The system they had in place with ninja/sitrep pro/normal class DID need tweaking, but this is going overboard.

100% agree with that. Glad someone has posted that on the official forum.
 
There's something not quite right with the sound and I dont mean the lack of footsteps. There's something buggy about it. I can hear people reloading from miles away with great direction but then they shoot and it sounds distance. My footsteps sometimes come from the bottom left rear and sometimes my character voice seems to come from the rear as well. So much so that I've turned around and looked for the guy "reloading" behind me.

While its no big deal for me I just cant believe that these things were intended. The footsteps thing maybe but the weird stuff is just too weird.
