Call of Duty: Black Ops

You can only assume it's some kind of issue with the sound engine not working properly. They then sort that out and the problem is solved, then they also sort it so you can use your headset to hear the enemy footsteps!

Yeah its too random and weird to be intentional. The more I play the more weird stuff I come across and its stuff I've now seen other people mention. I'm sure treyarch will do something about it though. They've always been decent in that respect.

dont know what i done but i left my game on the black ops menu screen and i could walk around the room after a while and at the back is a computer where you can enter a password ?

no idea what can be done on the computer though ?

I played Jungle for the first time last night with a few French guys on the opposite team and it was an absolute nightmare for campers. I don't think any of them moved the entire match - they certainly didn't capture a single flag between them. My luck turned however upon the discovery of a dead guys supressed weapon (think it was a FAMAS). Went from about 1 kill for 11 (!) for about 9 for 12.

Generally, I end up at least equal with my K/D and often better on TDM. I'm finding it a lot more enjoyable than MW2 already and it's often total carnage on a few maps (the snowy one around B on Dom, Nuketown in general).

Type in DOA for 1 minigame. Zork for another. You can make him get up by looking at your hands (use the sticks) and press the triggers repeatedly.

Hardly anyone seems to be using the noob tube in this version so far? Personally, I loved using it in MW2 and have it as the attachment on my M16 at the moment, it's excellent for clearing out rooms and capture points.

I am enjoying the game but only time will tell if this will replace MW2 as the most played game on live. For me, it won't.

Borked (?) sound mix for footsteps
The graphics/framerate are not up to MW2 standard imo.
The same applies for the soundeffects.
Crazy knifing is back- knifing is still overpowered, though obviously not as badly as MW2
Some of the maps are far too big for my favourite mode FFA  (one even eclipses Derail) Nuketown is my favourite so far- fast action :D . At least with the map design, effrots have been made to reduce camping.
Currency system, Customisation (target reticule shapes and colours... what the hell?). To each their own however, some people may enjoy fiddling around with these.
Perk challenges that force you into playing other game modes. I have no interest in CTF, Search and Destroy etc. I shouldnt be forced to play something I don't enjoy.
The game is less accessible frankly, but at least major issues have been addressed (Commando, tubes, Quick Scopers etc).

And before I get flamed... I am level 20 and placing in the top 3 in most games. I am using AK74u w/grip- Hardline, Sleight of Hand, Ninja (purely to remove the sound of my own footsteps).

The knifing in MW2 was way worse, Commando was the bane of my existence.

Graphics are fine as is the framerate so far? The fire actually looks a lot better in Black Ops as well.

They said the sound is being worked on, that Von (something, don't know his full name) specifically mentioned Ninja Pro not working properly.

Firstly why would you get flamed, and secondly, why would saying that stop you from being flamed?

Not sure what the hell just happened then. I was on S&D, me and one enemy left. We found each other but none of us could take any damage.

We were just standing there unloading both guns at each other and nothing was working (both had full bars, no lag). Everyone on mic was like 'wtf' as well. :p

Cough...hack....cough :p

Just because everyone is really excited about the new game. Others have already

Because I dont want people to assume that I dont like it due to the removal of noob crutches (Commando, stacking Killstreaks, Deathstreaks etc) :)

Yes it was but I just think that knifing in general is overpowered. It's not a major issue here however.

Again, just my take on things but I dont think they are as good as MW2 and that's a year old. That said, this is based on the WAW engine I believe.

I read the post on the official forum (linked to here in this thread) from Vhan. It read as though less emphasis had been placed on footsteps within the games sound mix, and that the current sound levels were intentional. I'm sure that Vhan and the team will respond to the issue and do something about it, if enough people want them to :)
