Worthwhile causes and your spare time?

Why was it due to be put to sleep?

It was at the council pound, dogs are normaly put to sleep if they aren't claimed in 7 days. This particular dog was handed into the pound by it's owners so they were aware of what was going to happen but didn't want or think to hand it into a rescue centre.

She was in a right state when we got her, she hadn't been fed in weeks and was terrified of men:mad:

Yes there are only a few charities I trust.

The head of the WWF gets paid $465,000 a year for example.

Pains me to say it but he's right. Most charities are huge moneymakers for some of the people involved, sadly.

I can understand that reaction, but if top charities don't pay enough to get top people in charge, they won't be top charities for long. Effective financial management, PR, project implementation, strategising...all important areas that need someone that knows what they're doing.

My sig links to a charity I donated my time to, delivering blood supplies overnight.
Without this service the NHS actually has to book taxi's and send blood this way.

It is heart warming to see that so many on here already do some charity work or other.
Quite taken back.
I thought you were mostly ***** students :D

There's not much been put forward in the way of a group activity though.

OCUK members Christmas meal at some suave restaurant?
Tux and dickie bow anyone?
At Christmas I guess the homeless might always be a good start for a worthy group.

Maybe Acidhell2 could donate some of his soups or sauces :D:D
