Need your input on this folks...
Once you've put your beloved rig together and it is operating as it should without any stability issue, do you leave it on 24/7 or do you swith it on and off only when required and what are the pros & con:confused:

No, I turn it off to save electricity and noise when I am sleeping, or going out. Sometimes auto shutdown after some downloading.

I've got an SSD so boot up time is fast, so no cons really.

Of course when I am in a situation where I don't have to pay electric (uni halls etc), its on 24/7 :P

That is my current routine as well but I was wondering if leaving it on would be benficial for my vertex2 (trim...)
Thanks.

Off every night or when I go out, sleep sometimes if I'm going to make dinner etc..

SSD makes boot times so quick there is no need to keep on all the time.

Am currently hosting a minecraft server and its my sharepoint dev environment so ofter use it over rdp... it stays on 24/7

I don't turn mine off much. I put it to sleep when I'm away or sleeping. I use an alarm clock program on my PC, so it wakes up from sleep at a certain time to wake me up :p
