Well Defour was 8m at the end of season and Ben Arfa only 4m but their wages are high. I bought others too and I'm only Boro after all so not much money comes my way!

Leigh Griffiths from Dundee is meant to be a very good signing for Championship sides. ~£1m

You can get him for 250k at the start (Dundee NEED cash) and I got him to Southampton (the game I dont play as I wasnt really in the FM groove)

Cheap, left footed, fast, and a really good prospect for the future! :)

Check this out people!! :D

HAHA! Im not sure whats more awesome, Zola park or Pato at Sunderland :p

Im in my first SNOW GAME!!! So hard to see whats going on but a cool addition for the winter half of the season :)

Is the game way too easy with all the superstar players???
It's not easy for me, I'm struggling with Hampton & Richmond in the BSS league, but others seem to be winning the Premiership and in Europe with teams that in real life simply wouldn't (for many years at least!). Is it the game/tactics or just that people buy the same superstar players that score too easily??

There's some fun in building the dream team from the start and taking on the world, but I do agree there is more fun in building up to it (just take more effort).

Why though are you putting your self through the BSS?!?! Possibly the most hateful thing iv ever experienced is taking charge at St Albans and trying to drag them out of semi-pro football with little success (no parent teams might I add which seemed a bit silly given the proximity to Watford and Luton).

Burton are my team for the longer term building game as the annoying bit of conference football is out the way!

Same here. I am in Derby and for me to play the game from the bottom I always choose Burton. Local to me and I have a few mates at work who are avid Burton fans and can help me during the game if I have questions to ask.

I have only played the inter-squad game and the first friendly against Derby County so far. Trying to find good free/cheap players that are young which I can nurture into superstars is proving hard.. Any tips for who to go for at the beginning of the game with Burton A?

what do people reckon to the keeper manuel neuer from schalke? he good enough for manu? his stats seem decent.

He's good, but I'd rather buy Areola on FM for about 8-9 Million. He's 17 (iirc) and will become one of the best keepers on the game given a few years, easily your first choice after a couple of seasons and then first choice until he retires :)

i have him but VDS has just retired so i only have 2 keepers. would like to have 3 just incase.

I'm coming up to the start of my second season with United and have VDS / PIG / Nipple (Areola) and then the normal youngsters.

Who's your current first choice? I've been using Nipple more and more and VDS less and less at the end of the season. I imagine Nipple being my number one this season (despite his age) and PIG as his back up.

Just then have another from the reserves incase you do need cover.

I kept PIG around, he's as good as most other keepers in the league and great back up.

Adler is good, but I'd be bringing through Nipple straight away. His age doesn't bug me too much.

Right it depends on one thing really, how many league do you have active?? (well and the data base size) as I found it helped having most of South America going to get some decent players in that just want to play in England for not a lot...

My other tip is to plan who your 4 season long loans are, in England you can have 4 season long loans, make them all decent kids who you dont have to pay wages for. I got Kieran Agard from Everton, John Dunleavy from Wolves, Ashley Hemmings and Marco Ranieri from Spurs. Some of these players are good ideas as there contracts are up at the end of the first season making them good free buys if they like you...

Another good shout is Alex Chamberlain out of Southampton (been watching him play in real life and hes starting to get good) but in FM he tends to get sold to a prem team and stuck out on loan. I wish I had him on the season long option but I forgot and only got him in for 3 months, he got a few goals and some assists for just being short and fast!

Loan signings are a killer for the first season or two really, there's little point in buying up a l2 squad when you get lumped with a MASSIVE squad to start with and little hope of offloading half the players till their contracts run out (and the left and right backs your start with are terrible).

For interesting frees (if they are in your database) you might get lucky and get King Gyan (midfield whos generally rated at champ level so offer him a contract as soon as you see him as he just wants to play). Michael Abnett is a good enough prospect for right back, Killian Brennan got released from an Irish team whos l1 left mid and I got Mihael Kovacevic out of Dundee United's reserves but im not 100% sure about him...

SECOND page OcUK??

Shame on you, never let me down again.

Anyone think they've got the refs tuned wrong in this game? Seems far too easy to get red cards, I've just reached the half way point of the Serie A season and there are.....seventy five red cards. That seems way to high to me  I mean there have only been 26 reds irl in the EPL so far this year from 6 less games!
