Hey guys.

I'm planning to buy the Sapphire ATI 5870 1GB GFX card and i am wondering if i have enough ampage on the +12V Rail with my PSU. I don't really know my stuff when it comes to working out this.

Would someone mind telling me if my current Jeantech 1000w PSU would handle it no problem?

Here's the link to the details about my PSU,

Help will be much appreciated, thanks!

What is your whole set up? you might have 50 other things all pulling 12v
as it stands that PSU is more than adequate

Sorry guys, i should have given all my specs. Here they are..

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300
Intel DP45SG Motherboard
EVGA GTX 260 SSC Edition
Intel 80GB SSD
Hitachi 500GB 7200rpm 16mb cache
2 x Western Digital External USB HDD's
Dell 20" Widescreen Monitor
Acer 19" Monitor
Logitech Illuminated keyboard
Razer Naga Mouse
Coolermaster Cosmos S case with 3 fans running (3 x 120mm)

I wish i never bought the Jeantech PSU but i bought it ages ago (roughly 1 1/2 to 2years ago) and i didn't know anything back then, i had more money than sense lol.

I am currently running a 5870 with the following spec:

Q6600 @ 3.42GHz
4GB GEIL Memory
3 160GB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drives
5 120mm case fans

All with a Corsair 620W Modular PSU :) - no issues here

lol
will it handle it?
Of course!
I thought martini is going to suggest you get 2Kw PSU.
5870 use so little juice.

+1 for the corsair 650, i'm running a overclocked 5870 and a overclocked phenom II 955 BE with this psu and no problems at all. Not to mention the lights and the fans that i have running off it aswel :), it's a great little psu.

I never hear of corsair psu until 2007? Ur point?

Jeantech are a budget poor brand of PSU makers. And anyway, Jeantech have been around for along time. Corsair haven't!

A corsair is a quality unit, and will deliver exactly what it says.
A jeantech however, will most probably deliver nothing near what it says it should.

Fair one, Personally I would pay the premium for a reputable PSU especially when powering a 300 pound card like the original poster. But for a run of the mill system I wouldn't of thought a Jeantech would be all that bad.
