180bhp yet 0-60 in 8.8 seconds, must make 180bhp for about 0.0112% of the rev range?

My 04 MK4 Astra SRI with 123bhp and about 450kgs less weight is quicker than this thing.

Nice car, good money, but will still de-value like a vauxhall astra. 6 years and
70k miles later mine books at £1.4k.

It isn't a bad price for a new car these days, especially with the warranty, servicing etc etc. Reasonable trim level too.

Not many new hatchback cars with equal spec, performance and cost I can think of, unless you want a very small hatch / supermini. E.g. Clio 200 but then it is a different type of car.

Yea but it has something to do "wow, all that power for a 1.6!" You can get more from non-turbo 1.6's, it's nothing special.

Really? What 1.6 n/a cars on in the new car market produce more than that?

Has anyone got an options list (ideally an exploded diagram but I think thats a bit much) showing a comparison between say a 1990's Astra and this Astra?

I'm betting side impact bars, crumple zones, extra strength passenger cages, airbags all round, air con, sat nav and various other options add up to a good couple of hundred KG!
