The next Impreza?

I like the look of the car! Very mondeo like, but that isn't a bad thing.

Wonder what engine it will have?

According to the press release it will get a new drive train, a N/A 2.0 boxer with CVT and a 2.5l, both derived from the current forester.

Do you know what an Impreza is?

It's a mid sized normal everyday saloon car. Most of them are quite plain and sensible looking.

Yes I do know what an Impreza is. Most of them are quite plain and sensible?

You are including the one's with the Gold Wheels, and big spoilers with the huge exhausts on the back right?

I don't think a P1 looks sensible, neither do some WRX STI's.

Thats right, they are.

As I suspected. You do realise there is more to the Impreza range than the turbocharged models, yes? It is an entire range of saloon cars with a bunch of quick models at the top. In the UK, the normal models dont sell very well and you rarely see them.

In America and Australia/NZ, they are far more popular.

This is merely the new Impreza concept. The specific trim levels will come later.

What you've basically done is whinge at a picture of a concept 3 Series because it doesnt look like an M3.

You're right as there are the standard 2.0L GL models IIRC. But when you think of a Subaru Impreza, you don't think about those standard models that are 'sensible'. The thoughts end up going along the lines of 300BHP Rally bred sports cars.

Am I wrong?

You are not wrong but that doesnt really have anything to do with this car. In other markets, people do think of the normal models.

This is the concept for the new Impreza. Specific models will follow later? Why is that difficult to understand?

This is not an Impreza WRX STi Concept. Thats why it hasnt got a big wing on the back. Infact, Subaru have dropped the Impreza name from the WRX now. It's simply 'Subaru WRX' as of the latest version..

Another new car, another plethora of 'looks like an XYZ' responses.

When are people going to realise that a car carries with it certain design contraints? It must have headlights, back lights, doors and wheels. Therefore it's hardly suprising when, if you squint, it looks a bit like another car.

... but it does seriously look a bit too much like a Mondeo though?

I was mistaken, I thought it was the STi Concept. My fault.

I didn't know they've dropped the name, thanks for sharing.

Looks alright that, well apart from the rear, wonder which will be the first car to actually incorporate these cameras replacing wing mirrors which all concepts seem to have lately.

An Elise looks like an Elise, many older cars also looked very distinct ... now-a-days many cars look alike, no-one is prepared to do something "different"

You seem quite angry recently!

As you quite often say, it's a discussion forum, people are allowed to post their opinions. :p

Reminds me of a Focus and a 3-series.
