Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

i'd like to know how it takes longer to release a game digitally than on physical media

surely it should be all preloaded and ready to go, when the game has presumably been burned to disks week ago

and still lolling @ EA store saying release date 2011 when game is clearly out today. They can't even get this simple detail right for their own game, sheer incompetance

pushed back again on d2d to tomorrow 12pm. I'm glad they waited until 4 hours after the previous deadline to inform me. last time i order from these cowboys

Q6600@3GHz and GTX480 here, the game runs fine most of the time and sits comfortably at it's capped 60fps but on mine it stutters when there are a lot of light effects going on like the police sirens in tunnels for example.
I am hoping a future driver update might iron this out but either way i would be interested to hear if AWPC has this with his i7 ?

No stuttering anywhere whatsoever its all buttery smooth :D

My game tag is tals555.

I'm playing on an AMD Phenom 2 720 (tri core), 460 768mb, 2gb RAM, Windows XP. Game runs smoothly at 1680x1050 - not changed the graphics they have set yet but certainly not noticed any lag. Will need to run through Fraps to get a better idea but no issues on playability. Loving it so far - although I have had one lock up - I suspect that maybe on the sound card side though so will tweak the settings in that respect.

Why are people playing the hard copies today and the EA Store states "pre order" I want to buy it now :(

Yeah it's a f-ing joke, plus direct2drive seems to push back the release date by an extra day or two every time it arrives  . When a game is released on physical media too these digital distribution glitches should be ironed out weeks in advance. At least when people moan about a delayed release on steam, you often can appreciate that the game was only just finished a matter of days ago. NFS on the other hand you know has been "gold" for a good while now.

So it definitely does have limited activations then, now we know, thanks. (Yes they are probably unlimited provided you remember to de-activate.)

Anyone worked out how to add friends in this system?

** No matter you add friends in the online part of autolog **
