Does anyone on here own one, if so what are your experiances with it, reliability etc

I have this stupid infactuation with them at the moment, I think they look brilliant, Clio RS's are the only revvy NA car about that are still in production I like everything i've read about them but i've had two Renaults in the past and my ownership experiance with both left me with a bitter taste of which I swore to never buy french again

I'm just curios at the moment, I will be keeping my current car until summer 2011 and when it goes it will be to free up money for a deposit for a flat so i'll have no car and i'll be faced with the option of buying an older car and maintenance or buying an approved used car from a dealer on finance with a small deposit and warranty

If it is even half as good as my old 172 cup then you will love it.

What ever you do though don't expect a comfortable rattle free car with brilliant build quality. The rs clios are great at being nippy very well handling cars and if you want a car to have fun in then they are a superb choice.

P.s Get the recaros :)

You are going to sell a 4k car to free up money only to then finance a car from a main dealer?
Eh?

I'm not interested in discussing finances with you Fox, its predictable and boring and you'll derail the thread looking for confrontation

Thanks for all the other info

172's are a bit too old for me now, even 182's are 4/5 years old. Ideally i'd like a car thats newer than my current one rather than the other option which is buy an older car i'd prefer something with a warranty

This is all ages off yet anyway. I'm really interested in ownership experiance of the 197's

I am commenting on what you said in the opening post. That's not really thread derailment is it.

I just find the concept of selling a 4k car to free up money by replacing it with a low deposit finance deal rather weird that's all.

Your plan makes no sense.

Depreciation would do my box in (why I refuse new cars).

But nae mind, if its new you want its new you'll get.

Thanks for the free car valuation

Go on then, i'll bite.

My car is worth X amount of money by the time I come to sell it i'll be looking to buy a flat, now I dont know about you but i'm not rich and the value of my car is a considerable amount of money to me so i'll have to sell my car to free up the cash thats in it to put toward the deposit. After that i'll do without a car whilst I save a small deposit to put toward another car on finance

I hope this clears things up

No not new, I would if I could afford it but it would be approved used

I suspected that's what your thinking was.

A 6 year old (next year) Corolla will not be worth a huge amount of money but what it will offer is reliable and dependable transport with very low monthly costs.

Replacing that with a financed car from a main dealer will not release more than a few grand but will increase your cars cost of ownership quite considerably.

I mentioned it because I didnt think there is anything to question, its quite clear i'm looking for ownership experiance of said car, I am not interested in financial advice, if I was i'd take it to GD

And there we have it, thread de-railment in all its predictable glory

I understand what you are saying but I need the cash thats in the car, its as simple as that really, without selling the car its another 6 months of saving and thats is just plain not going to happen

HAHAHA

This is a ridiculous idea. You cannot afford the 197; you can barely afford to keep your existing car. Stop being a plonker and save up for things.

If I wanted advice on a car, I'd ask exactly that. I would not talk about how I'm going to finance it. It invites questions.

You dedicated nearly HALF your opening post to finances then you cry when people discuss it? It's on topic as you made it the topic!

Had you just asked about the car then people would answer about the car.

How do you know I cant afford to keep my car? You know all this from what?

I always regret making threads in this section, you get fools like you that make assumptions and totally take the thread off topic
