Creatine a bad idea?

how long should you use creatine.. to see noticable difference in terms of size and more importantly strength?

Check the supplements thread as I can't remember how long I used it for.

I think I loaded 15grams 5/5/5 for 5/6 days then just had 5grams pwo for about 5-6 weeks.

There's people that will tell you not to load, not to cycle, some people that are constantly on it etc.

If you're eating plenty of read meat it's not really neccesary anyway. Sorry I can't be of more help but this has been asked thousands of times all over the net and has been discussed in the supplements thread.

There is no need to load or cycle creatine - this is up to the individual.

Creatine also does not directly aid muscle growth. Creatine converts into ATP in the muscles, which is a type of muscle fuel if you like. This may enable a suser to crank out a few extra reps - thus indirectly leading to muscle gains.

Yes some people may experience slight bloat and stomach cramps, but this is not the norm.

It is THE most researched supplement out there besides protein powder itself.

As stated it is naturally occuring and highly abundant in red meat.

According to lots of studies this is true. Over the term of a cycle (not a short one) the non loaded gainded as much as the loaded.
On a short cycle the loaded people had better gains though.

Obviously when you think about it.

All creatine does is build up optimal levels of ATP in your system. Therefore, those on a short cycle would need to load to see the benefits, as they wouldn't be using the product for long enough to hit the optimum level of ATP storage.

What's your MT nick? :)

This is the only forum im registered on and even then i dont tend to say much.

More of a reader than a writer.

Originally only signed up to thank people for the effort they put into this part of the forum. Helped me drop 4 stone (15st 2lb down to 11st 2lb) and fall in love with weight training.

Bit of a dramatic statement... but the day I came across this section of the forums and started reading, was a bit of a life changer.

Still got my head down, gone up over past few months too 14st.
Probably bit more fat than id like, but im still learning about myself and what works best for me. Think I will be for some time.

One day I shall be able to post an update and reach Darkshadows lvl ;)
Gotta have something to aim for ay . hehe

Hey that's life mate. Set yourself small goals and consistently reach them, and you'll be fine.

I'm Wilks on there btw - say hi! :)
