astro mix amp

I went from a Medusa 5.1 to Goldring DR150 stereo headphones because I found the newer Medusa sets had terrible sound quality compared to how they were when they first launched.

I don't notice much difference from 5.1 in the 3D positional audio either, when using CMSS3D on my sound card.

And tahnx for suggesting astro mix amp just one thing that is quite expensive its self so is there any other cheaper option?? And still looking for headset ?

Victor SU-DH1 and Turtle Beach DSS are cheaper alternatives to the Mixamp. They don't handle the Mic as well for consoles though.

I was actually interested to see how the Psycho Audio headset would turn out, as it uses a different approach to most 'real 5.1' headsets. They put the drivers in the headband and fed the sound through tubes to the ears. On paper, I thought they might just do a decent job.

A few reviews like this one have put me off ever seeking them out, particularly for the silly money they're asking:http://hardocp.com/article/2010/05/11/psyko_51_pc_gaming_headset_review/

Sorry Earlier I ment Pskyo

From the review site Uriel posted:

Editor's Note: I spent more than a few days using this Physko headset for doing nothing but playing games. I am surprised that Earl did not make this comparison, but from the moment I put these on, I felt like I was listening to the sounds produced through a tube. If you read the rest of the review here, or at least looked at the video, you know that is exactly what you are doing...listening to sound through a series of tubes. The Creative WoW Wireless Headset, that cost half as much, and that we reviewed here recently, simply blow the Psyko headset out of water in terms of sound quality. And these are wireless!

The Psyko headset seems to have a ton of good ideas behind it, but terrible execution. I am not sure that you could ever use a series of tubes to deliver excellent sound, but even leaving that argument by the wayside there are still some other questions here to not be overlooked. Why no digital connection? Why no built in sound card at this price level? Why the easily destructible wiring? Why can we not get specifications on the build components? Seems to me that this is cheap product dressed up to look expensive. I was extremely disappointed with the product and would not suggest that anyone purchase these.

BTW, Uriel have you ever listened to a sony amp using their 'headphone theatre' sound field? I think its meant to do the same as DH.

I keep meaning to fire up my sony and see how it sounds.

If i was looking for something right now, it would be between these 3 only.
