***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Not good, not good at all. Smoothness in a racing sim is an absolute must for me. Ive been used on the PC for over a decade. It's a game breaker for me sadly :(

Stop over-reacting! The PS3 in general seems to suffer from tearing more than the 360 or PC, but it'll still do a solid 60fps.

actually forza 3 has slowdowns/jerkiness at a few tracks, last corner exiting mugello full and start/finish at motegi full.

I'm going to have to defend Forza here and say I've never noticed slowdown where you say there is.

The only place I've seen it is during a replay, and even then it's very rarely.

Me either. I've played it. A lot.

Last corner at Motegi can feel a bit odd but I put it down to the camber/surface and the game physics. Never noticed an issue with Mugello.

The only time I've seen stutter is playing online when someone has flipped a car onto the roof at which point everyone wherever they are on the circuit gets laggy response to the controls until the offending car is shiny side up again. Maple valley is a favourite...

I've just gone on those tracks trying to replicate it but it's just not there.

Maybe he doesn't have it installed to the HD and there is a scratch on the disc.

Anyway, playing Forza now and it is still a great looking game, but I know GT5 will look better. I cannot wait to see it.

A little worried about these reports of tearing and slowdown though. There were some on GT5p, but that was excusable. GT5 should never have been released if its as bad as prologue.

Tearing or No Tearing. this will no doubt be great!

I personally thought GTP ran just fine. Hand on heart I never noticed any tearing.... Probably because any tearing came and went within tenths of a second.

I don't think GT5P had any tearing, I don't remember any. But this isn't GT5P is it...

The worst game I have played for tearing was MotoGP 06 on the 360. It run the full height of the display and was there for a couple of seconds. Made it unplayable for me.

Every other aspect of the game may be great, I just hope if it is an issue it doesn't get ignored in reviews where other games would be picked up on it. Whats the point in great graphics if the system can't handle them 100% of the time.
