I hardly notice it, played Heavy Rain for hours last night.
I do game with the PS3 set to 1080i on a 32" 720P TV (does 1080i but mostly would set to 720p). Maybe the PS3 upscaler is responsible for the tearing, or alleviates it at different resolutions. Or, maybe some eyes just don't see it.
That said, GT5 will be what it is. The screenshot of the Mk2 MX5 is absolutely unforgivable. Rehashing old content that badly in a 5/6 years development time frame is worse than a shoddy console to PC port with no optimisation. They came out with the 1000 car rubbish then realised they bit off more than they could chew. I;d rather they had lied and gave us 500 decent cars. There's no need for two levels of quality. You should strive for excellence and honor it, I thought that's what GT was all about.
Only the driving experience can rescue this game for me now. I get the feeling it was all delayed for pointless features and bolt ons I probably won't use.
