3m DI-NOC

Why not? People have covered their whole cars with the stuff. It's also an easy way to salvage my splitter for £20 without buying a new one.
People have and I've seen it used on exteriors with great effect.

However... it isn't designed for exterior use so for an area such as a front splitter or bumper which gets a lot of stone chips I think it would look rubbish very quickly.

Unlike normal exterior vinyl it doesn't have that slightly rubbery feel or texture to it, which is part of the reason that it looks so good but also means that it is more likely to tear when being impacted by stones.

Just my opinion.

Been having a play with this tonight on some quite fiddly bits (Steering Wheel spokes).

Very surpised at how flexible it becomes after just a few seconds of heat from the Hair Dryer. Got one spoke done and then stopped because i ran out, ordering some more this week to get a few bits done...

- Centre console clock surround
- Gear surround
- Remaning 3 steering wheel spokes
- Possibly Wing Mirror Covers & B Pillars

Finish looks great though :D

Does this stuff have any tendency to to start peeling from a edges after a while?

It depends entirely on how you apply it. Everything I've covered I've wrapped right around to the "back" of, so no, it just shrinks tighter and tighter to the object that has been wrapped.

If you were to only go up to and edge then yes it would start to peel back IMO.

Covered 4x Door window switch holders in Di-Noc, been on for about 4-5 months, 3 of them months in very hot temperatures. No problems so far. As mentioned trick is to heat them up when applying, and leave enough to curve/mould round whatever you are applying it to.

Didnt use any primer either, just the usual making sure surface your applying it to is clean.

Just bought a roll of this stuff to do my interior door sills, will post back the results once done :)

Neil.
Just had a play on a few bits, I didn't order enough to do the sills it seems and the bits I did have a go at were quite complex (instrument binnacle hood/recessed light switch panel) I messed up :(

Neil.

Guessing this stuff wouldn't be wise to put on a rocker cover due to heat?

Mine needs a repaint and I was going to do it black but this might look a bit better.
