Went up to Vermont today, im on a 2 lane highway doing 70, on the inside lane. Then i look in the rear view mirror and some stupid woman is tailgating me about 6ft behind. Even better than that shes also txting :eek: Theres a guy at the side of her, doing the exact same speed and just sitting there, so she can't overtake. So she just proceeds to sit on my ass and carry on messing with her phone.
The only thing i could do was to speed upto 80 and put quite a few cars inbetween us.

The amount of idiots that txt while driving over here is a real eye opener.
 
See it on motorways over here. People more interested in phone than road! Slow down and let her pass?
How come you didn't see her until she was on your ass?

Is it a fineable offence over there?

I think she was in the other lane, but moved over to do a spot of txting. She couldnt pass due to the guy at the side of her, so i had to speed up to move over then over take the cars in front of me. Tend to see loads of people yacking on the phone but its not illegal, but txting is.

Aye, I would've stuck the brake lights on.

Women in people carriers are the worst for tailgating and flying down the motorway recklessly at 85mph. Most have the cheek to stick a 'baby on board' sticker on the window.

i dont get why we in the uk assume the americans are a lot more into bad habits then us

the big one is everyone thinks the americans are all fat but if you go there you'll not see that many.. its much easier to find a fat guy in the uk..we're the fattest country in europe..

ive drove quite a lot around the east coat and west coat of america and the only bad driving i saw was mine.

Thats because most parts of america are pretty superficial and the fat people don't go out. Miami is a great example, go down to miami beach and see if you can find anyone who is ugly, fat or old!

Now if you go somewhere in the middle, like Texas then fat people will be around.
 
I text when I drive - but only ever on a road I know.

Plus I've got a proper phone with real buttons so can touch text without looking at it and my car has bluetooth so reads out messages to me so I never actually look at the phone unless I'm stuck in traffic.

Obviously certain conditions I don't; fog, ice, road I don't know, dodgy driver around, other people in the car etc....
 
Having visited a friend in the US (from UK who moved to Texas), it makes or drivers seem much much better.
They can drive at 16.

A 16 year old, a v8 and little/no driving lessons with no test is one hell of a dangerous thing!

Ninja Edit: Also they seem to text at the wheel a lot in the US. Is it permitted over there?
 
Yes I do, it means "woman" in Arabic. Bintii - means my woman, Bintak - means your woman. Just thought I'd add a bit of extra info in there. :)

Is this the real reason why you ended up crashing into an Armco barrier then?



As i get older i'm quickly coming to the conclusion that 80% of the general public are thick, yesterday i was driving behind a woman who had located her satnav right infront of her face 1/2 way up the windscreen, if i was a copper i'd have pulled her over and handed out some points.
