My name is Jamie, and I've decided to build a giant robot

just finished the 54 episodes of the robot project gonna watch some of his other vids while waiting for giant robot project part 55

I managed to watch the whole Robot Project up to the latest one, I can't put my finger on this guy, on one hand he's living his dream, he has some genius ideas, he's extremely hard working, his motivation and drive is off the scale, he is highly innovative and resourceful, and he seems highly intelligent.

Then he'll do something really stupid like hold a square piece of metal/Makrolon in his hand or simply clamped with a single Mole-Grip he's holding on to whilst drilling it with the incorrect drill-bit at the completely wrong speed, or weld metals bare-foot in a T-Shirt, he is aware of safety issues as he does wear goggles/masks and other protective stuff, just makes no sense. I can't believe he has a full compliment of fingers and eyes TBH...

Other things he does irk me too, there's no way on Earth anyone can fabricate 3 or More Identical items that need any sort of precision by simply 'Eyeballing' where to cut/drill or weld, same with drilling square either horizontal or vertical whilst holding both the item and the Drill in either hand, just does not happen.

He sure is entertaining to watch though :)

Bloody awesome only watched part 1. But this is how I want to live. Out in middle of nowhere, large forest with no or little planning permission.

Me too. Although I'd rather have a place where you can drive your car right up to the house. Where he lives he has a 20 minute hike to get from where he parks to his house.

I'd also build a proper house, i couldn't live in that dome thing he has built. Looks like he has just put some foam matting down onto the soil as well :(.

His place is a lot closer to the Town than I thought when I found it on on Google Maps, thought it'd be a bit more out in the sticks than it actually is, I'm surprised he's not rigged up a Zip Wire style contraption from the top down to the road :D

Awesome idea, you should suggest it in one of his vids :D.

Finished watching all 54 of the robot ones yesterday. Just waiting for more to come out now. While I'm waiting I'll definitely watch the rest of his vids. The guy is a mad genius! My OCD can't deal with how messy he is though. Just tidy your workshop dammit!

linky for the map please

He didn't buy any kit's for his buildings, all are made from cheap scrap!!
Extremely resourceful and clever imo

Although from his website it's sort of implied that when he looked after someone and he passed, the lady who was left widowed took jamie under her wing and sounds like she provided some monetary assistance.

I really don't know how much land costs though!

Land in a remote part of the USA that's mostly vertical and under several feet of snow every year doesn't cost that much, especially when it doesn't have a house, utilities for a house or road access. Still, he has 25 acres and that can't be cheap.

I've just found a 10.6 acre lot in Vermont for $18,000 without any shopping around.
