Games are a bit old so the graphics might put you off but i played Wizardry gold (8) a couple of years ago and its still addictive.

KOTOR though is a Legend of a game - just blew everything else away at the time.

all the other greats have been mentioned i think. :)

not something im prepared to do seeing how i just deleted my battle.net account after watchign the game destroyed from its original glory so it can fit the masses /wormtin.

i will also look up the mods for baldurs gate, its one i think im deffo going to get as it gets mentioned everywhere! :cool:

2) Mass Effect 1+2 ( 2nd is a bit of a crap console port but not totally bad)

for old school
1) Baldurs Gate
2) fallout 1+2 ( forget 3 its not a rpg ;) )
 
got myself planescape torment and fallout 2, fallout 2 im quite liking except its fairly hard to know what im doing, only in the first village so far :)

havent really tried much planescape, the high res mod wasnt working so i will go back for it hopefully when i get the time to get it working.
 
A lot of old classic RPG's can be found on GOG at the moment.

It's the only place to find, my fave, Planescape: Torment, at a reasonable price.

Wish they'd put Bloodlines and the Thief games on GOG. Would be instant purchases for me. I already own the Thief trilogy pack but can't get them to run on nV cards, so a GOG release would be awesome.
 
KOTOR is a good game for getting into RPGs I think, aside from Diablo 2 I hadn't played one for about 5 years when I tried it in 2004.

For someone who is into FPS games, something like Fallout 3 might be a nice halfway-house.
