***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

maybe its somewhere in the tuning....in gt5p you could set how hard you wanted the brakes to work (or something to that effect).

my copy has been shipped....hopefully arrive tomorrow.

Does anybody have any idea if the new game will have the option to use the classic GT controller setting of steering with the D-pad and using X and Square to brake? or will it force players to use the sticks or triggers like recent racing games have?

Need to know before I hand over any cash as this is a sale/no sale feature for me.

Thank you.

That's totally different to being able to fit more powerful brakes. Adjusting brake pressure is to do with avoiding locking up with stronger brakes and no ABS.

I'm not sure why you would want to use that control method but assuming it's like Prologue you can map out the buttons to whatever you wanted.

I'd probably suggest you wait til tomorrow to get a firm answer, or ask the guys who have already got it to check for you :)

brakes are there just caught a glimpse of this pic posted in the gt forums

maybe needs unlocking before everyone jumps the gun..

Could the brakes be another feature that is only for Premium cars and not for Standard cars?

Is the car in the above pic a Premium or a Standard?

i suppose it's because the gt4 cars had no real brake modelling or brake physics basically the brakes in gt4 never suffered from brake fade maybe they do on the premium cars in gt5

just a thought

At the risk of stoking the flames (I should point out my copy will be arriving tomorrow and I've very much looking forward to it), the more we find out about the actual game, the more short-changed it's beginning to feel.

Can anyone recommend a good wheel under £50? kthxbai.

second hand DFGT they are second to none for gt5 prologue so imagine they will be great for gt5

well they were designed at the same time as prologue as an compliment to each other i use mine for everything including ym pc games and it's a great little wheel for the money

Had a couple of hours on this now.. Without risking attack and life long abuse i,m not really liking it tbh. Its ok but thats about it there is nothing overly special or stand-out about it. It really gives you a massive feel of being half a game.. I will keep going and see how it goes but so far to me anyway its a bit meh.....

Want a laugh?, check out this GS video 'quick look' of GT5, some of the stuff this guy comes out with is so comical.

Holy crap those are two of the most boring voices ever. And what the hell is up with that guys accent which seems to sporadically change from English to American at the drop of a hat. The guy on the other side was actually texting just now and why is the video quality so damn bad?! This is Gran Turismo, nice way to show of the graphics by having like a 320p vid. :(
