***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Just thought I'd make my post as vague as his.

its not vague at all, or do you need reminding that certain people told it is was to be a genre-defining racer, the likes of which we've never seen before?

or, is it infact...just another racer. which the rest of us knew it would be all along. That's not to take anything away from it, im sure the reviews will put it right about where i thought it would be - better than FM3 in some places, worse in others, and different enough that it'll live alongside FM3 quite happily.

those who were expecting perfection will be disappointed...im sure most of us are still pretty excited even with the few niggles here and there. personally i've never come across a perfect game so there is no reason to expect gt5 to be perfect, it hasn't stopped me from enjoying games in the past.

think its about 45 quid....my preorder was 33 with a saving of 12 quid.
Ta mate - actually decided to swap it back to shopto - should still get it on release day. Just decided paying double for the CE just wasnt worthwhile - Im known to not really get that into my games so for me it wasnt worth the investment...

Never ever considered not getting the game - GTs far too special for that, warts and all...

Probably best Mr Latte left before actually getting his hands on the game :).

In fact, he's probably exploded already.
I honestly can see Kaz getting some death threats :p. Im just glad he will (hopefully) get a wake up call and not rest his laurels on GT6. You are only as good as your last game...

DLCs gonna be awesome ;)

Yeah pretty sure the only people who thought it was going to be perfect are the ones who never wanted it to be in the first place. Its got its faults, the premium/standard cars is a strange idea, some stuff being locked away until certain levels (like an RPG?) and maybe some graphical glitches/problems will give certain people fuel for the flames. Most will over look these issues as to them its not important or doesnt really matter, as they enjoy games for what they are and what they do rather than what they are not and what they dont do.

So have you spent enough time playing it to make your own mind up? Or have you just decided to go ahead and form an opinion based on what other people have so far said?

Found out that my pre-order had been canceled. Guess I'll have to do it the old fassioned way and buy in store.

It's been a long time in the wait this game. Better not let me down now haha.

I think 5 years in the making and several quotes from Kaz saying how everything will be perfect before it's put in, and how it's delayed so PD can make it even more perfect, etc, etc make people's expectations of perfection quite valid..

Personally, I can't wait until tomorrow, I've updated my Turbo S firmware, had a quick check all is OK with it in GT5p, and now I can't wait to get my hands on what is a much more appealing GT for me, something closer to a proper 'sim' then ever before..

it's very difficult to form an opinion without personal experience so no, i have not formed one either way.

however, these 'other people' are the people who have preordered the game. The ones who wanted it to live up to the hype. if they arent convinced then it says a lot, doesnt it?

Not really because the vast majority of people haven't even played he game yet, I don't quite understand why you bothered to post, it was basically a NelsonHaha.jpg in text form.

I know I've said this before but I'll say it again, the standard/premium cars thing is beyond retarded. I wish they had just ditched the whole idea of 'standard' cars and only had the premium cars in the game. 200 cars is plenty, and they could have added more via DLC.

I just hope that it's possible to progress through the game whilst totally ignoring the 'standard' cars. If not, it's a deal breaker for me :(
